I have a new favorite Glimmer Hot Foil plate set!!!!! It is the Glimmered Botanical set. This set not only has glimmer hot foil plates in it, but it has die to cut out the florals and other dies that create layering pieces for those florals. The result is stunning multi-layered flowers. You have to see how it works, that's why I have a video of the making of this card.
See how stunning these flowers are with layers of card stock and foil! Let me break down how this works.
Here are 3 pieces from this set, used to make the largest flower. Starting with the plate at the top of this picture. This is a glimmer plate. Hot foil this piece. On my card I hot foiled this with Magenta Foil on Watermelon Fusion card stock. Then I used the die, the middle piece in this picture to die cut that out. When die cuts the flower there will still be card stock showing around the hot foiled area. This gives it more of a layered look. Set this aside and die cut the piece at the bottom of this picture to layer over the first piece. I die cut mine from Bubble Gum card stock. This creates the middle layer, adding more detail to the flower. Now let's talk about the center of the flower.
The top plate in this photo is the glimmer plate. You can die cut out this glimmered piece from either of the dies shown below it. The one on the left creates the center for the large flower I discussed above. The die on the right die cuts half of the glimmer plate, creating the center for the medium flower. Show in the photo below in orange and blue.
Here are the dies and plate used to make the medium flower.
The top piece is the glimmer hot foil plate. I used Tangerine Foil and Tangerine Fusion card stock to make my medium flower. Then I die cut it using the die shown in the center of this picture. The bottom die was die cut from Citrus Cooler card stock and mounted over the top of the glimmered flower. Then the center piece was added (using the center piece shown above with the half die) with a foam square to finish off the medium flower.
There is also a glimmer plate and die to make the small flower. And for the leaves there is one glimmer plate and two dies. One die cuts out the entire glimmered leaf the other cuts out a smaller portion making a smaller leaf. This gives you two different sizes leaves to create your floral arrangement.
Now let's chat about the background on this card!!! If you look closely you can see a subtle shine of dots. I used Opal foil and the Scattered Dots glimmer hot foil plate to create this. The Opal foil is clear with a pearlized finish. It's the coolest foil! Because it is clear, the color of the card stock shows through and the pattern of the plate is now a pearlized look. I also used the Opal foil to foil my sentiment on black card stock! You can see it in action in the video below where I show you how I made this card using the Glimmered Botanical set.
If you like the layered glimmer hot foil look come back again tomorrow. I am sharing the Especially For You Glimmer Plate set which does the same thing, on a smaller scale.
