Hello my crafty friends. Can you believe it is August 1st? The exciting thing about the first is that is when the new Club Kits from Spellbinders are revealed!
I love sharing the Large Die of the month with you. What I love about getting this die of the month is that is challenges me creatively. I end up making things I never thought of making because I am getting something new a different every month.
This month's die set creates a 3D project! It is the 3D Still Life Easel and Canvas die set. You get dies to make a 3D standing easel from card stock! And a canvas! It is so crazy cute!
Here is a look at the Easel and Canvas that I made.
This is just so cute and not hard to make either. This die set also comes with the little accent pieces like the paint palette and paint brush! Take a quick look at the entire 12 piece die set.
Don't be intimidated by all the pieces, in the video below I show you how to easily put this easel and canvas together! And look at all the fun extra dies you get to help you create an artsy look.
After making my first Easel and Canvas I wanted to think outside the box and see what else I could create with the dies from this set.
I am a card maker, so I wanted to incorporate elements of this set into a card.
For this slimline card I used the canvas to make mini shadow boxes. It's just the canvas flipped over. And three of these fit perfectly on my slimline card. This slimline card measures 9" x 8" and is scored at 4". This size fits perfectly in the business sized envelopes I purchased, at the Dollar Tree!
For my background I used a Gel Press Print from my stash. If you are not familiar with Gel Press Printing, you can check out my videos making prints right HERE. I use my Glimmer Hot Foil machine and the More Sentiments Plate set to create the sentiment for this card. If you'd like to check out more Glimmer Hot Foil videos I have a bunch right HERE.
To see this die set in action and how to put together this easel and canvas check out my video below, it is easier than you think!
All the things I used to make today's card are listed and linked for you below.
