By now you probably know that I love Glimmer Hot Foil. So when Yana Smakula released her Christmas collection I was so excited to get my hands on it and play. Yana is the queen of the Glimmer Hot Foil system so I knew her line would be amazing.
For today's cards I am using 3 products from her new line; Glimmer Winter Village, Yana's Christmas Sentiments, the Glimmer Gift Border. I also used another plate from her line that is on one of my faves, Polka Dot Strip.
I love playing with color for Christmas cards. Changing up one color like using pink instead of red gives a different feel to these cards. I think they have a bit of a retro look to them.
This first card uses both of the village scene plates and the snow plate to create mini scenes for each scene on the ends of this slimline card.
The snow plate is unique in that it fits around each of the village dies . See the wonky edges, one side of this plate fits perfectly around the lodge looking building and the other side of the snow plate fits around the smaller village buildings. Genius!
I used Magenta foil on Bubble Gum card stock and Viridian Green on Lemongrass card stock. I die cut these images with a circle die and backed them with a darker card stock, Sweet Berry and Kiwi Slice.
For the sentiment I hot foiled Happy Holidays from Yana's Christmas sentiments, in Polished Brass foil onto Brushed Gold card stock. I am LOVING this look! The All is Calm, All is Bright is also from Yana's Christmas Sentiments and I used the same Polished Brass foil to foil this part of the sentiment on Whip Cream card stock. I backed the brushed gold circle in Mirror Gold card stock for an eye catching focal point to this card.
The village pieces are glued down to 9" x 4" panel that I hot foiled with the Polka Dot Strip plate and Opal foil. I popped up the sentiment circle in the center. To finish it off I tied on some Gift Wrap twine.
For this card I used the new Glimmer Gift Border plate to hot foil a long border down the side of my slimline card front (8-3/4" x 3-3/4") in Polished Brass foil.
I then used some Distress Ink (Mowed Lawn and Picked Raspberry) to watercolor in a few of the presents.
Another circle sentiment for the focal point of this card, using Merry Christmas from all of us, a combination of 3 plates from Yana's Christmas Sentiments. The plate for "from" has tabs that fit into notches on the "all of us" plate. Which makes it really easy to hot foil them together, but you also have the option to foil them separately.
I added some more twine and embellishments from the All the Things pack.
I am in love with making Slimline cards right now and have a goal to send out all Slimline cards for Christmas this year, or mostly all.
