Peek-a-Boo Coaster Shaker Card with Crescent Creation

Now let's take a look at the shaker cards I made for the hop and the fun elements I got to play with to make them.

Look at all these fun shaker elements!  You know I LOVE a shaker card! So having fun new elements to use to make a shaker really inspires me!

The stamp set I am using for these cards is from Avery Elle, it is the Peek-a-Boo Coaster stamp set. I thought I a Halloween carnival was the perfect use for this stamp set. 

The first card is a full shaker card made with plastic sheets (formerly sheet protectors) and the Fuse Tool. Fusing plastic around the entire card makes the entire scene a shaker card. 

In this close up you can get a good look at the shaker elements. For this card I used the Halloween Clay Bits Mix and the California Poppy seed beads. The Halloween Clay Bit is a mix of halloween clay elements and Halloween confetti. I love the addition of seed beads to a shaker card, they add a fun sound and really help move the elements around the shaker. 

For the next card I went for a portrait card using the same stamp set and was happy that my coaster and critters fit on this style of card, as portrait cards are my go to. 

For this card the shaker is the moon. I changed up how I colored my critters and coaster, there are so many fun possibilities with these just in how you color them.

The shaker elements I used on this card are the Halloween Sequin Mix and the Wild Indigo Seed Beads on top of a glittery moon. All the fun Halloween elements are in this mix, jack-o-lanterns, bats, spiders, ghosts, as well as traditional sequins in bright halloween colors. 

I also added some Metallic Gold Jewels all around the card to boost the look of stars in the night sky.  I love all the shaker elements I got to play with today, I know I will be using them again soon!

Spellbinder Picot Petite Circles and Squares - 3 Fall Cards

Hello there my stamping friends! Today I am sharing two new die sets from the Spellbinders shop, the Picot Petite Circle and Squares.  They are part of the Amazing Paper Grace collection by Becca Feeken. Although my style and Becca Feeken's style differ these dies are great for any style. I am using them to dress up some bold fall cards. 

First let's take a look at each of these die sets. 

Both are a set of four. Here are the sizes of the dies. 

Largest Die = 4.9 inches

Medium Die = 3.9 inches

Small Die = 2.9 inches

Smallest, shape die = 2 inches

These dies nest together perfectly.  You can die cut one of the dies on it's own for a decorative edge on your shape, or you can nest them together to die cut a beautiful frame. They also layer together for and even more stunning look. 

Let's take a look at the three cards I made with these dies. You can see the making of these cards in THIS VIDEO. 

My first card uses the Medium circle, cut as a frame. 

I put this circle onto a card that is 4-1/4" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4". I added some sprayed and splattered ink, using Blue Lagoon and Shimmer Gold Silks and Citrus Cooler Silk, all from the Spellbinders Shop. They all have a touch of shimmer to them and make for a quick and easy background. You can see me make this background in the video that showcases these dies.

The pumpkins I used for today's card are from the Martha's Pumpkins stamp and die set. I also used my favorite embellishment, Rainbow Drops, on all of these cards for some bling! Look how that Picot Petite Circle so beautifully frames the pumpkins. 

For card two I wanted to layer up the circles, they are so pretty this way.  I used the largest circle as a frame and the medium circle with out the center cut out. For my background I used the Oatmeal Cookie stamp pad and drug it across this card stock panel to create a woodgrain like look.  

I would love to know what you think of Blue and Orange with Kraft as a fall color combination. 

Card Three is a Slimline card! 

The white panel on the front of this card measures 9" x 3". I was able to fit 2 die cut squares on the front and left the center whole to add some pumpkins and a sentiment.

Just Chillin Stamp Set

Slimline Snowflake Border Die Set

Wavy Slimline Borders Die Set

My first card uses the Just Chillin' Stamp set and the Slimline Snowflake Border die set to create a fun winter/Christmas scene. 

I started this card with an ink blended background using Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar distress oxide inks.  I misted the ink blended panel with water and splattered it with Metallic watercolor. This made for a gorgeous backdrop for the snowflake die cut to sit on. Isn't this snowflake border soooo fun!  The die cut sentiment is also from this die set and I love how it looks on this card in red. 

I colored in these darling images with my Copic Markers after stamping them onto White card stock with Totally Black ink. They are so much fun to color and cute as a button! 

I used the snowflake die and mittens dies to dress up the inside of this card. Brining joy your way is also from the Just Chillin stamp set, what fun sentiment for Christmas cards! 

Now let's take a look at my second card, made with the Just Chillin stamp set and the Wavy Borders Die set. 

The Wavy Borders Slimline Die set is so fun because it has this slider die in it!  So now, my polar bear and penguins are actually on the move!  

This card also has an ink blended background, using Seedless Preserves and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide inks this time. I thought purple would be a fun color combo for these critters. I love having the sled slide across the card.

Not 2 Shabby Shape Card with a Digital Stamp

Hey there I am back with another card project!  Today I am playing with a Digital stamp set from the Not 2 Shabby shop, The Farmers Market. This set was hand drawn Jamie, the owner of Not 2 Shabby. This is a digital stamp set has 12 images that can be downloaded, printed, and colored by you. When you purchase this set, for just$ 5.99 will get 5 PNG files. One sheet of sentiments and images pre-sized, just print and color and all four images on separate PNG files so you can resize them as you wish. I used both the pre-sized images and the actual farm stand image I re-sized to make my shape card. 

This card is part of the Not 2 Shabby September Digital Challenge. Each month we have a new challenge for you to play along with, this month we are using a Digital Stamp + a Traditional Stamp. 

We invite you to join in the fun!  Grab a Not 2 Shabby Digital stamp and create a card using it along with any traditional stamp you want. Post it to Instagram and hashtag it #not2shabbydigichallenge so we can find each other. 

Now let's take a look at the card I created for this challenge!

I enlarged the farm stand image to be as close to 4-1/4" wide as I could and printed it so it was at the very bottom of the page. This way I could score the card at the top of the stand and fold it in half to create a shape card. So the stand is the card, it is not mounted on to a card. I also omitted the word OPEN at the very top of the stand by covering it with a white square before printing it out. This allowed me to add an additional stamped image to the top of the stand to give it a custom name. I stamped "Scarecrow Kisses"  from the Happy Fall stamp set to the sign so that this is a specific Farmers Market stand, the Scarecrow Kisses Farmers Market!   Then I set to coloring in my images with Copic Markers. 

Here is what I used to color...

I printed my image out using my HP Envy 7645 Printer.

I used light weight, cheap, white card stock purchased at Walmart in a ream to print my image on. 

This has always worked for me with my Digital images and I am able to color them with no issue using my Copic Markers. 

I used two other images from the Happy Fall set, the Crow and the pumpkin. I added them to the front of the card for more depth and interest. 

Now on to the inside of the card. I had to line it because for one I used light weight card stock and two, the Copic coloring shows through to the inside. 

I cut two pieces of Oatmeal Cookie card stock to 4-7/8" x 3-7/8" so I would have two liners. 

The liner that is on the top half of the card I stamp tone on tone with a gingham background stamp so it was not just plain. I repeated that look of gingham with a stamped strip on the bottom that was the perfect spot to add another pumpkin a crow. 

I also used one of the sentiments from the Farmers Market digi stamp set for the inside, "Love you veggie much". SO cute!

Bunny Burrow Episode 3

Welcome back for Episode 3 of my Bunny Burrow series, which is part of my September Stamp Set of the Month series. This stamp set from Trinity Stamps has been so much fun to play with. I love all the critters and the burrow so much!  Each week I am bringing you a slimline cared because I have also fallen in love with the entire line of slimline dies that Trinity Stamps has to offer. The slimline set I chose to highlight this week is the Rainbow Builder Slimline die set. It has a magnificent rainbow to cover a slimline card!  

For this episode I really wanted to do something different with my critters. I decided to color them in rainbow colors. So I have my pink bunny, which is just adorable!  The fox was easy in orange. For the yellow and green I did not have a critter I wanted those colors so I colored my burrow with a yellow door and of course green for the burrow itself. The Raccoon in blue was cuter than I thought it would be and I love it so much. But doesn't that hedgehog look like he was meant to be purple??? The exact Copic Markers that I used can see found in the video for this Episode. 

The die cut rainbow in the background is the inspiration for this entire card. The Rainbow Builder Slimline die set makes me so happy!  I love that it covers an entire slimline card!  But you can also use pieces of it as well. All the clouds on this card are also from the Rainbow Builder die set. I love that I can use the clouds on their own with out the rainbow.  The tree and grass are from the Great Outdoors Borders and Builders Slimline die set. Like I said, Trinity has some amazing slimline die sets!!! 

For the inside of this card I pulled out the Mouse House and Frappy Camper Perking Spot stamp sets for an additional scene. I love that a slimline card gives you that extra space on the inside so that you can continue the fun on into the card. 

The outside and inside sentiments (besides Perk Up) are from the Happy Senti Mini stamp set.  The Perk Up sentiment is from the Frappy Camper set.  I only glued this grassy border down by putting glue on the very bottom edge that way I can tuck a gift card into the grass for a coffee treat. 

This month I am challenging myself to create something cute to go with each of my cards. So this week I played around with all my left over die cut rainbow pieces. Because when you cut with the large rainbow die you will get seven rainbow pieces. You have to die cut the entire die from each of the colors you want in your rainbow. Or from white card stock and then color each white piece the color you want for your rainbow. I chose to do colored card stock. In my video I will show you what I did to use my left over rainbow pieces, so I did not waste any of them. But now on to the cute thing I made. 

You can see this rainbow starts with purple. That is my tip, put the rest of your rainbows together, starting with a different color but still going in rainbow order. You might have noticed that in each episode I am using my fuse tool to create my cute thing. This time I wanted to make a shaped shaker tag with one of my left over rainbows. The shaker elements arePuddle Jumping Raindrop Confetti, from Trinity Stamps. Trinity also has the most amazing embellishments and super fun things for my shaker cards!  

Fusing this shaped tag was much trickier than doing something with straight edges. I have 5 tips for fusing in this weeks episode, sharing what I learn with you as I learn it.

Pumpkin Kisses and Harvest Wishes Blog Hop

 I personally am showing off the Tri-Frame Slimline Dies in today's project which I am super happy about because you all know I love shaker cards!  And the Happy Fall stamp set is perfect for a Fall themed shaker card, so let's get to shakin'!

Now let's take a look at the card I made for this hop. It's a double shaker on a slimline card. The Tri-Frame Slimline die set cuts the frames for me so, it was easy to make a shaker on a slimline sized card. 

There are 3 frames in this die set and they measure: 

Large: 8-1/4" x 3-1/4"

Medium: 7-1/2" x 2-1/2"

Small: 6-5/8" x 1-7/8"

For my card I used the Large and the Small frames. 

The outer frame of my shaker has chunky glitter only. The inner frame has the Hot Cocoa Sequin Mix by Kat Scrappiness plus a bit of that same chunky glitter.

The background of my shaker was ink blended using Speckled Egg Distress Oxide ink and a stencil for a bit of detail. 

I used several of the images from the Happy Fall Stamp set by Not 2 Shabby for this card. They are so much fun to color. My favorite has to be the crows. 

 

I colored in these images using my Copic Markers, I had fun picking out fall colors for this card. The pop of blue was just the thing this card needed, and that is why I picked the Speckled Egg ink for the background, to match my colored images.

Bunny Burrow Episode 2

Welcome back to another Episode of my Bunny Burrow Stamp set of the month series. In this episode I am creating a Slimline Z-Fold card!  AND, I am collaborating with my friend Cassie Trask.  Cassie and I both had the idea to use the Bunny Burrow and Mouse House stamp sets together on one card. So I asked her if she's like to collaborate with me. That means you are getting two videos, double the ideas and double the fun today!

Now let's take a closer look at these projects. 

Here is a look at the Slimline Z-fold card when closed. You can see I have the Bunny Burrow and Mouse house on the front. But there is more to this little critter village. When you pull the left side of the card there is more....

You can see the scene has extended, doubled!  

I also used the camper from the Frappie Camper Perking Spot stamp set. I LOVED creating a little village and making this card into a Z-fold card gave me all the space I needed to add all these fun things. 

Here are the measurements to make this Z-fold card. 

Card Front: 8-3/4" x 3-3/4"

Z-Fold Panel: 9-1/4" x 3-3/4", scored at 4-3/8" and 8-3/4" 

Adhere the small flap to the back of the card front on the left end to create the Z-fold. You can see this being made in the video above. 

Now let's take a look at the cute box and tag I made to go with this card. Each week I am challenging myself to create a cute thing to go with my card. This week I used the Gable Favor box . 

This is the front of the box, you can see how this Gable box coordinates with the card. But there are a few differences. I die cut the window pane from red card stock. And I colored in the stones around the door instead of using the die to cut them out. And do you see the tag on this box?  It's another project made using my Fuse Tool.  I don't know what it is about the shiny plastic over the tag with glitter in it that makes me feel like this tag is so elevated. But I LOVE it! 

 

This is the back side of the box. Another scene from the card, I love the worm on top of the stump.  Isn't the Mouse House just the cutest!? 

I also decorated the sides of the box with a little something so the scene continues all the way around the box. 

I think this box would be a fun little something to give with a treat in it to a new neighbor. A welcome to the neighborhood gift.

YouTube Mystery Swap 4 - Lawn Fawn Fall Interactive Cards

Hello there my stamping friends. I am sharing one of my favorite things today. Its another Mystery Swap Challenge with my friend Jen Hartsgrove. I just love doing these swaps with Jen. It's a fun way to connect with a friend that lives across the country!  This month our challenge is to make an Autumn themed Interactive card. So, as always Jen sent me a Mystery package of things to use for this challenge and I sent her one too. I will make a card with the things she sent to me and I will also make a card with the things I sent to her. And of course Jen will do the same. Now let's take a closer look at the cards. First up is the Lift the Flap card I made using the things that Jen sent to me. 

I love the new Slimline Lift the Flap die set from Lawn Fawn, so I was thrilled this was the die cut that Jen sent to me. I was also in love with the papers she sent. I love plaids so much and this fall one is perfect for an Autumn picnic, right??? I have been wanting to play with the Crazy Antics stamp set for a while and thought this would be a perfect time to do so. In fact I ended up using it on both of today's cards. 

Let's look closer at what's under each of these flaps. 

See the tree, I die cut that using the Shadow Box Park Add on Die Set and woodgrain paper that Jen sent in the Mystery package. I am so in love with all the images in this set, especially the ants. However, they are not as cute when they are actually in your house!  

Here are the little mice having a picnic, oblivious to the ant situation. These teeny tiny ants have dies to cut them out! It's these little details that make me so happy. 

And off the ants go with the good stuff.  I had so much fun making the three mini scenes for this lift the flap card. 

Now let's take a look at the card I made using the Mystery items that I sent to Jen. 

I sent Jen these wooden hoops and sequins, with the thought in mind that they could be used to make a shaker. I decided to use both sizes and make a double shaker and use the same stamp set, Crazy Antics, for another picnic scene.

Again, the ants have taken over! I love the ant peeking out of the picnic basket!  And the smaller shaker is a look into the ants den! They tiny die cut ants were the perfect shaker element!

Spellbinder Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month - September 2020

I am so excited about the September Glimmer Hot Foil kit of the month!  It is a fun and versatile kit featuring RAINBOWS! Glimmer Hot Foiling rainbows is the just the perfect match! Take a look at all the plate and the two dies that come in this set. 

There are nine Glimmer Hot Foil plates and two dies in this months set and it comes with a roll of Rainbow Foil, what else???

Now let's take a closer look at each of the five cards I made. 

CARD ONE

For this card I used the Rainbow Foil on white card stock. The bows of the rainbow are die cut from the die in this set and inlaid back into the outline that the die creates.  The sentiment is also from this kit and is perfect in the rainbow foil.  I used an embossing folder for the background and splattered it with Sparkle Silk for that "just rained" look that happens when you see a rainbow.  I paired rainbow drops with several of my cards as the perfect embellishment. 

CARD TWO

I used several of the different rainbow plates to hot foil this rainbow with Rainbow foil on the outline and an array of foils for the bows. Each bow of the rainbow was added separately. To repeat the look of rainbow on this card I created a background panel with 1" strips of paper, adhering them to a piece of copy paper that is 5" x 3-3/4".  Putting these on to a thin sheet of paper allowed me to emboss the panel with my Cloudy embossing folder. 

CARD THREE

Of course I had to make a shaker card! This time I foiled light colored card stock with darker foil for an amazing look that I love. And perfect for a focal image on this shaker card! 

CARD FOUR

For this card I pulled out my favorite foil, OPAL and used it on all four of the bows of this rainbow. I used the cloud die to create a background. And Prism foil for my two sentiments. 

CARD FIVE

And I had to make a slimline card. For this one I used the left over die cuts from Card Three. No foiling on the rainbows themselves, but I did foil the sentiment. Clean and simple and so cute.

Bunny Burrow Episode One

Hello and welcome to my September Stamp Set of the Month series, Episode One!  This month I am featuring the Trinity Stamps set, Bunny Burrow. 

I love critters!  And this set has that burrow house, it's too darn cute. 

This month I am challenging myself to make a card and a cute thing to go with it in each of the Episodes. So stay tuned, every Tuesday, this month for new ideas with this set. You can see this Episode on my YouTube Channel right here. 

Let's start with the card I made. I made a slimline card, of course, I love them so much. And Trinity Stamps has an amazing line of slimline die sets! That being said, I am sure you can guess that there will be a lot of Slimline cards this month. 

For most of my Stamp Set of the Month series I like to start out by "getting to know" the stamp set. Using all the images, creating a basic card with them. And from there I start playing around with different ideas. It's kinda like a first date. And after this first date, I know it is true LOVE!  I am giddy over this stamp set. I had so much fun coloring in these images with my Copic Markers and creating this slimline scene. The worm has to be my favorite image in this stamp set. He reminds me of the worm, Lowly in the Busy Town books. If only he had a hat and a shoe!  

I used two of the slimline dies sets from Trinity Stamps to create this card, Scalloped and Scenic Borders. I love the scalloped edged panels!!!!! 

For my coordinating project I made a book mark. I used the smaller of the scalloped rectangles as the base. This is the base for my shaker book mark. 

This is a shaker bookmark. I used my Fuse Tool to encase my book mark in plastic. I LOVE how it turned out. This was my first project using the Fuse Tool and I might have to fuse all the things now!  

You can see I colored the worm green for this project, isn't he so cute! All the critters are just darling in this stamp set.

Spellbinders Have Your Cake Large Die Set of the Month

I am excited that I get to decorate cake in today's post!  I have always said my creativity does not translate into frosting, but I can decorate a die cut paper cake and Spellbinders has made it very easy with the Large Die Kit of the Month for September!  

I used this die set to make a card and a gift tag. I have them pictured for you an a video so you can see this die set in action. 

First lets take a look at all the dies in this set. 

This die set is called Have Your Cake and it is a set of 25 dies. It die cuts a slice of cake and has 3 different sentiment options that fit in the open spaces of the cake slice.  There are dies to cut frosting, whip cream, fruits, and a candle. 

For my card I wanted to make a slimline card that I could put three different slices of cake on and use each of the sentiment options. 

This card measures 9" x 8", scored at 4".  These three cake slices just fit on it! A finished and put together cake slice measures: 2-7/8" x 3-1/2". 

I love that there are 3 options for sentiments in this die set. And the little die cut fruits are just too cute! 

I feel like my card is a scene at a bakery window, where you can buy cake by the slice. Which flavor would you choose? I know CHOCOLATE is missing, that is a card for another day. 

It is such a fun die set, I really wanted to make a rainbow cake. I thought a it would be fun to make it a shaker, on a coordinating gift tag. 

To create a shaker out of this die, I die cut the front of the cake slice piece 5 extra times, cut out the center lines, creating a frame out of each.  I then glued them together making a thick frame.  This gave me the space I needed for my shaker elements to move around so I adhered it behind the front panel that is attached to a window sheet. You can see the making of this in the video below and how it all came together.
