I love surprises, I think that is why I love getting the Glimmer Hot Foil kit each month. I get a fun new set to hot foil with and a roll of foil to go with it.
The November Kit was a good surprise with a very fun Christmas set that includes 4 plates and 1 die. It is the Merry Christmas Wishes set.
I love the word Merry inside the hanging ornaments. And a die to cut the bottom edge is so much fun!
Then you can use the remaining sentiments to build on to the Merry for a card that is centered around the foiled wording.
You can see the card I made with this kit along with the new Quick Trimmer by Spellbinders in the video below.
If you can not see the video on this screen, you can also view it right here.
I love pink and green for Christmas and the retro feel of these ornaments had me gravitating to this color combination.
I foiled the ornament image twice to extend the length of this slimline card, 8", using Polished Brass foil.
For the bottom half of the card I used Green foil on Limeade splash card stock.
For the tiny sentiment, To You And Yours, I used Polished Brass foil on Sweet Berry card stock.
To finish off the card I accented each of the ornaments with a Gold Pearl. And the top left and right corner got a little holly with pink berries.
I love all the shine on this card and I think shine is the perfect thing for a Christmas card.
If you have been on the fence about getting into Glimmer Hot Foiling, you should know that you can get 10% the Glimmer Hot Foil system when you sign up for the Glimmer Hot Foil kit of the month. It's an offer you have to take advantage of when you join the monthly kit.
If you are already a Glimmer Hot Foiler, like me, you should know about the new Quick Trimmer. Spellbinders just released this new tool that helps you to easily cut your hot foil to the size you need for any plate. I am in love with it. You can see it in action in today's video.
I love the size of this trimmer, not too big so it is easy to store and pull out for quick use.
The self healing mat has grid lines and a ruler, helping me to get straight cuts. The top trimming plate has tracks in it that fit the blades of the foil and paper trimming blades. This makes cutting straight a breeze. I will be using this trimmer every time I cut foil.
Below I have listed and linked all the things I used to make today's card so you can easily find it.
