Welcome back to my blog. It's time for Episode 2 of my Winter Burrow Stamp Set of the Month series. In this episode I am making a Pop Up Slimline Box Card. It was easy, because I used a new die set in the Slimline Series by Trinity Stamps.
I can't wait to show you this card! It is a Christmas card for a sweetheart. You can watch the making of it in the video below.
If you can not see the video on this screen, you can also view it right here.
I loved making this card into a 3D scene with this pop up box card and it is slimline, so much fun!
I stuck with traditional colors for this card and love them with the black and white!
The checked paper is from the Black and White Slimline paper pack by Trinity Stamps, love this print! Simple prints like this one, or dots or stripes are my most favorite.
Here you can better see the bridges that the images are adhered to, that make them appear 3D. You can add as many bridges to this card as you like. I think 2 or 3 is perfect.
Let me tell you how I made this background for this card. I started with Black Soot Distress Oxide ink, once that covered my background panel I spritzed it with water for a splatter look. Then I used one of the Snow Fall stencils over that with white ink. Next I used the second Snow Fall stencil and added Glitz Glitter Gel over that. This resulted in a background with a lot of depth. I LOVE it!
For my sentiments I used a smile Merry Christmas stamp from the stamp set, A Sentiment for Almost Everything. It is adhered to the back fo the burrow and tree, so it is suspended in air.
To finish off the sentiment I used the Sweet Senti-Mini stamp set to make the word Sweetheart. Make sure you watch the video to see what I added to the back of this card.
I had so much fun making this card, it is the first pop up box card I have ever made, I guess having a die made me want to give it a go, not to mention that it is slimline size! When this card is folded flat it measures 8-1/2" x 3-3/4", fits perfect in the business size envelopes I bought at the Dollar Tree.
You will find all the supplies I used to make today's card listed and linked for you below.
