Falling For You 3 Ways

Thank you so much for coming back to my blog. It is Saturday and that means I am here with another video for you featuring Trinity Stamps products. 

Today it is the new Falling For You gnome stamp set. This gnome is so cute with his arms stretched out as he falls into a pile of hearts. I love it so much. 

In this video I will be sharing 3 cards I made with this set and all three are different sizes. I have an A2 one layer card, a 5" x 5" shaker card and a Mini Slimline card which is 6" x 3".

First up I will show you the one layer card, sized A2 (4-1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2"). 

Using all five of the images in this stamp set it is easy to make a one layer card. 

I just stamped my images with Copic friendly black in and colored it in. Then I colored the sky around him and added some shadowing beneath the pile of hearts to ground the image. 

The scalloped border at the bottom is from the Slimline Series dies, The Great Outdoors set. 

A quick and easy card made super cute by that little gnome. 

Now let's take a look at a card that takes things up a notch. The 5" x 5" shaker card. 

You can see I used different colors of pink on this card. I thought the background of the hearts could be a cloud in this image, so I thought a shaker full of clouds would make for a fun card. With hearts falling all around him. 

This shaker card is also a window card, you can see through the shaker window into the card. 

For all the circle die cutting on this card I use the new Embossed Edge Circle dies. These dies leave an embossed edge around the outside of the circle and around the circle left in the paper you die cut the circle from. Pretty Cool! If you look closely at the pink circle on this card, near the left side of the bow, you an see those embossed lines.

I added a bow from the Bunch of Bows die set to finish off this card. 

Last I have a mini slimline card for you (6" x 6").

The background of this card is a piece of All Heart Slimline Paper pack. I die cut it with this scalloped panel from the Mini Slimline die set. 

And I added a custom sentiment, made with my new favorite alphabet die set, the Graham Cracker Alphabet. 

I just love how the three cards turned out, have such cute images make it easy to create adorable cards.

DIY Patterned Paper with Scrappy Tails

Hello stamping friends. Today I am sharing a fun way to make your own patterned paper with stamps and ink. 

The stamp set I am using to make this patterned paper is Popping Poppies from Scrappy Tails. After I make the paper I will be using it to make 3 cards, a Slimline Shadow Box card and two mini slimline cards.

Now that you have seen the patterned paper being made let's take a closer look at the three cards I made and see the changes I made to the last card after the video. 

First I have to share the Slimline Shadow Box card! This die set is so super cool! 

The front of this card is a window and inside the box are two bridges holding the sentiments and two flowers. The patterned paper I made is on the back, inside panel of the card. 

The sides of the box also have the patterned paper, which was easy to add with the use of the dies from the Slimline Shadow Box die set. Which is also what I used to die cut the Happy Birthday sentiment and it's shadow. 

All of the flowers, leaves, and the Popping By To Say sentiment are from the Popping Poppies set. 

I used them for the patterned paper and the colored and die cut flowers that adorn the outside of this card. 

This card folds flat and is 9" x 4" and will fit in a standard size business envelope. 

With the left over patterned paper I made two cards, Mini Slimline Cards. A Mini Slimline card typically measures 6" x 3" when folded. It just so happens that of the 3 largest rectangle dies in the Slimline Shadow Box set, the smallest is 2-7/8" x 5-7/8" ( approximately) and so die cuts the perfect card front for a Mini Slimline Card! 

Take a look at is on the front of this simple note card. 

This card really showcases the patterned paper. Even thought it appears simple there is a lot of love and stamping technique in this card. 

The last card uses another of the dies from the Slimline Shadow Box card, the large label, as I like to call it, was used to die cut the fun shape on the front of this card. 

If you watched the video then you might be able to tell that this card is slightly different than the one I shared there. After making this card and video, I decided the Happy Birthday sentiment in gold just did not stand out enough from the background. So I added a second die cut sentiment to the top of the gold in black, off setting it to the right just slightly for a bit of a gold shadow. 

I so enjoyed making my own patterned paper with this stamp set and  then using it to make this pretty cards. 

I hope that you enjoyed watching these cards being made and learning how to make patterned paper like this. I learned it years ago from a very special stamper who has since passed. It is still one of my favorite techniques and I will think of Suzy every time I make this kind of background. I hope you will give it a try as well.

Trinity Stamps Sending Smooches Release and a YouTube Hop

Below are the two projects I made for this hop, featuring the Best Place to Be stamp set. 

This is such an adorable stamp set with the two little gnomes snuggling and their hats tied in a bow! And I love that his beard is braided just like her hair. 

Then there are the 3 other images in this set; the branch of flowers, the bird and the bee. I am just in love with this set because of these extra images.  You could make a card with this set that does not even include the gnomes. And the sentiment reads; together is the best place to be. Such a versatile set because you can use it for Valentine's cards or any other time. 

Now let's talk about that background on my card. It's a new Slimline die!  It is the Slimline Sweetheart Panel Die. When you die cut this there are 21 hearts that cut from it, the die leaves a stitched line around each of them. And the die also creates an embossed line around the entire edge. This die is 8-1/2" x 3-1/2". 

I glued three of these die cuts together for some dimension on the back of my card. And I dusted the edge with some Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink. After that I splattered the panel with some Perfect Pearls. 

Then I added my stamped and die cut images. The coordinating die set for this stamp set has a die to cut out every image, even the sentiment. 

I finished off this card by adding some glaze to each of the bees to give them a shiny look. 

I loved the story book feel of this card so much that I made a coordinating book mark. 

The base of this book mark is a scalloped rectangle from the Scalloped Card Panels and Banners die set. It is the smallest panel in the die set and I love using it to make bookmarks. I used it in this video for a shaker book mark. I also used two of the banner dies in this die set for the sentiments on today's projects. 

The rectangle panel layered onto the scalloped measures; 2-1/8 " x 7-1/8". I stamped the floral branch image repeatedly on this panel for a floral background. It also has a dusting of Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink around the edge, as well as a splattering of Perfect Pearls. 

I colored my gnomes up slightly different for this project, coloring them up in different ways is what makes them so much fun. You can make them bright and bold colors for a summery feel, warm and rich colors for a fall feel, so many possibilities. 

I love the little bird perched on their hats. 

The bees also got a coat of glaze on this bookmark.  One of the bees is die cut out and the other two are stamped right on the background. I thought this might show a bit of depth. And because I did not want to use foam squares on a book mark I added a second die cut of the bee behind the die cut bee to give it a bit of dimension. 

I added the heat embossed sentiment to the twine at the top fo the tag to finish off the bookmark. 

I love how these projects turned out, it's a bit of a change from the usual colors I use and I could not be happier with the results. Bold and Bright is always my go too, but I am loving making softer cards lately too.

3 Mini Slimline Card with Special Delivery

Welcome back to my blog, thank you for stopping by. Today I am sharing Episode 4 of my Special Delivery Stamp Set of the Month series. 

In this Episode I am diving in to Mini Slimline cards. I will talk about sizes, share some die sets for this fun size and make three cards all with the Special Delivery stamp set by Lawn Fawn.

Generally speaking a mini Slimline card is 6" x 6" scored at 3" resulting in a 6" x 3" card. However, much like it's big sister (the Slimline card), Mini Slimline cards can differ slightly in size. One that I am sharing today is 5-3/4" x 3-1/8", based on Mini Slimline dies from Kat Scrappiness.

Let's take a look at each card and below the card I will list the Mini Slimline dies used for that card. 

This mini slimline card is an interactive card and uses the Waving Pull Tab die set, so when you pull the tab up the birds wings move. It is so fun to make this owl look like she is flying. 

Look at that baby owl in the box! I love this Box add on stamp and die set that goes with Special Delivery. There are so many fun things you could put in that box!

Next up is a shaker card. 

I couldn't decide is the birdhouse on this card belongs to these owls, or is it the birdie post office or is it a birdhouse shaped mailbox?  What do you think?

And now it is time for a love note. 

Look at these two shy little owls, exchanging Valentine's! I think they are just darling sitting on their little branched with their love notes.

Digital Stamps + A Valentines Kits = 2 Cards

Hello my stamping friends! Today's post is jam packed with goodness!  I am showing off the new Valentines Box from Not 2 Shabby. And using a coordinating digital stamp set (Sprinkled with Love) with the kit to make 2 cards. In the making of these two cards I have a tutorial on how to use the Cameo Silhouette electronic cutter to combine two images to make one new one and then print and cut that image. With this new image print and cut I will show you two cards, one for Valentine's Day and one for Christmas. My Christmas card is for the Crafty Christmas Club monthly hop. Now let's take a closer look at the cards I made with the Sprinkled with Love digital stamp set. 

Here you can see I made one card for Valentines Day and the other for Christmas. 

Both of my cards are MINI Slimline cards, which is a 6" x 6" piece of card stock folded in half at 3". Cute and easy! And the perfect size for using a 6" x 6" paper pack. Just cut the paper in half and you have a card front. But for my cards I cut my paper to 2-7/8" x 5-7/8" to have a very thin white border around the paper. The paper is from the Frosted and Tufted paper pack (currently only available in the Valentines Box)

My cupcake and cookie image is actually 2 digitals stamps that I combined to make one before printing it out and cutting it out with my Cameo Silhouette. You can see how in the video above. 

I used Copic Markers to color up my image. When I work with Digital stamps I used light weight card stock from Walmart that comes in a ream. It reads through the printer very easily. I use a HP Envy 7645 for printing and have not had any issues with the printed image bleeding when I Copic color them. 

My sentiment is from the Sprinkled with Love stamp set. So, the Sprinkled with love set comes in a clear stamp set and as a digital stamp set. It was fun to mix the digital stamps with the actual stamp set. I added a few stickers and sequins from the Valentines Box around my sentiment to finish off the card. 

And now for the Christmas version of my card for the Crafty Christmas Club Hop. 

The Crafty Christmas Club is a group of crafters who share Christmas creations on the 25th of every month. 

To make some Christmas treats for this card, I went with red frosting and a green cupcake wrapper. I think this cupcake would be so much fun to color up for different holiday and themes. I feel like this cupcake is chocolate peppermint. Red and White frosting would have been another great choice for this card. 

For the background I used the white tufted print from the Frosted and Tufted paper pack. 

I added one of the bows from the Ephemera pack, it was not quite the right color to match my card so I colored over it with my RV11 Copic marker, which is one of the colors I used to color the frosting. 

I used the same sentiment on this card, To my sweet friend. And on the inside, Merry Christmas. 

To accent this card I added a few of the small white sequins.  I think it is a yummy Christmas card, even thought my daughter says it looks more like it's a watermelon cupcake. What do you think?

A Punny Valentine Card

I just love a punny Valentine card, I guess it takes me back to my childhood and the quirky little valentines we would give our classmates. I love that everyone got a valentine from everyone. Why is it that as adults Valentines day is now for your significant other?  I think it should be as it was when we were kids and EVERYONE gets a Valentine!  And that is the inspiration behind this card, a punny, corny valentine to make someone smile on a day when the calendar tells us to show our love. 

So, let's take a look at the making of this Punny Valentine card with a Sneak Peek of a soon to be released die set from Trinity Stamps

I love making my own ink blended back grounds and this card has two. I ink blended a panel with Rusty Hinge and Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink to die cut the soda from. I did have some struggles with the background and ended up do layers of ink smooshing and splattering on top of it to get the background to the point where I was ready to use it.  Once it was sufficiently splattered I die cut the cup die from the Summertime Sips die set from the panel. I also die cut the same cup from a window sheet to cover up the soda, so it would look more authentic and like it was in a clear plastic cup. 

I added some of the medium ice cubes, die cut from vellum, a straw cut from white card stock and a vellum lid. To give my straw the red stripes I used a red colored pencil to hand draw in the stripes, it only took me two tries to get the look I wanted. 

The stamped sentiment is from one of my favorite stamp sets, A Sentiment for (ALMOST) Everything. And it's true, all the basics and more are in this stamp set. All in this font and perfect for skinny banners. 

Now let's talk about that custom, punny sentiment. It was die cut using the soon to be released Graham Cracker Alphabet. I love the size of these letters, great for making your own sentiments on a card or scrapbook page, but not too small that they are hard to handle. I used my tweezers to hold the letters, add glue and add them to my card.  This new die set will be available on 1/27/21.

Special Delivery Congrats Card and Gift Card Holder

Good Morning and welcome back to my blog. Today I am sharing my creations for Episode 3 of my January Stamp Set of the Month series. In this episode I am making a Congrats card for a new mom with the Special Delivery stamp set by Lawn Fawn. And a matching gift card holder to go with the card.

Now let's take a closer look at today's card. 

My idea was to have the birds holding a banner in their beaks. I love these chubby little birds thinking of new ideas for what they might be holding in their beaks is so much fun. I colored out my little birds with Copic Markers to look like canaries and just love them in bright yellow. 

For the banner I used the Olivers Stitched ABC's and Ballet Slippers card stock from Concord & 9th. 

What makes me so happy about this card are the little clay bow embellishments I used on the banner. They are just darling and were the inspiration for the color palette on this card. These little bows are from the Craft Supplies by CC Etsy shop. 

For the stamped part of my sentiment I used "special delivery" from the stamp set with the same name that the birds are from. For the "on your" I used a sentiment stamp from the Happy Village stamp set. 

The owls, small butterflies and hearts stamped on this card are from the Mom + Me stamp set by Lawn Fawn.  It was the perfect set to pair with the Special Delivery stamp set for this card! 

The size of this card base is 8-3/4" x 7-1/4", scored at 3-5/8", which gave me a bit of a border around the scalloped panel from the Scalloped Slimline with Hearts: Portrait die set. When die cut the scalloped panel is 8-1/2" x 3-1/2". This card will still fit into the business sized envelopes I found at the Dollar Tree. 

And here is the gift card holder made with the Magic Iris Birdhouse die set. 

This gift card holder is easily made by folding a piece of card stock in half and die cutting the birdhouse so the bottom cut line is just beyond the fold. When you run this through the die cutting machine you will have a birdhouse that opens at the bottom. Add a bit of double stick tape to the sides, but only near the top, to secure the pocket. Now you can add a gift card and decorate the gift card holder that can also but used as a tag on a gift. I thought pack of diaper with a gift card and this darling card would make a great gift for a new mom.

Spellbinders January Club Kit Hop

Hello my stamping friends. Today I am hoping along with Spellbinders sharing inspiration with the January Club Kits. 

I will be featuring the Large Die of the Month, Slimline Kaleidoscope, and the Glimmer Hot Foil kit of the month, Calligraphy Hearts. 

So many of the kits work well together as well as on their own. These two kits are great to use together. 

Take a closer look at these two kits. 

On the left we have the Large Die of the Month, a slimline die with layering heart to fit in the openings. And foliage dies for accenting. 

On the right we have the Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month, with three different hearts you can hot foil and die cut out. There are also 5 sentiments that can be hot foiled as well. And again, foliage dies for accenting.

Now let's take a look at the card I made just for today's hop, combining both of these kits. 

I started out this card by die cutting the slimline die from white card stock and three shades of pink card stock. 

Next I adhered a window sheet panel to the back of the white die cut. This allowed me to paper piece in the fall out pieces around the large hearts using the shades of pink card stock that I also cut with the slimline die. 

I love the ombre look this gives!  

Then I took the largest hearts that are fall out pieces from the white die cut and glimmer hot foiled them with the Calligraphy Hearts set. The heart glimmer plates are the same size as this die cut. So I just taped my plate to the die cut and made a hinge. I opened that up and add my foil. Closed the die back onto the die cut and taped it closed. Then I was able to hot foil this with perfect placement. I did all three of my hearts with the same hot foil plate for a consistent look. To hot foil the hearts for my shaker I used my favorite foil, Aura. This foil is gold with an iridescent finish. 

I used my die cut pink panels as a guide to add my foiled hearts to my card base, so they would be precisely placed when I added the front panel. And now the hearts show up in the window. 

This card is also a shaker card, although the shaker elements are hard to see in the photo because I used a clear glass glitter.  Because I paper pieces the hearts in and around the heart openings it was easy to create a shaker card and adhere this panel to my card base with foam adhesive. 

That way you have the shiny shaker elements but it does not take away from the glimmer hot foiled hearts. 

Lastly I added a hot foiled sentiment from the Calligraphy Hearts hot foil set. The finished size of this card is just a hair under 8-1/2" x 3-1/2". 

I love these two kits paired together. And that they are great as stand alone die sets.

Special Delivery Episode 2

In this Episode of my January Stamp Set of the Month series I am turning the birds from the Special Delivery Stamp Set into robins. 

These robins are searching for worms to feed their baby birds after the rain.

This card is a shaker card with a rainbow backdrop, because this scene is after the rain. And that is what my shaker element are in this card, raindrops. 

The Slimline Rainbow die set is from Trinity Stamps. I love the large size of this rainbow and that is stretches from small to large over the length of a slimline card. 

This card also has several lift the flaps, two in the tree and two bushes. Behind the bushes are a couple bugs hiding out from the rain storm. And in the tree are the baby birds. 

I was able to make the bird carry the worm easily in it's beak just by using the die that comes in the Special Delivery stamp set, to cut an opening around the beak. I love that there is a die for this and I do not have to use a blade to do it. 

Now let's take a look at the little treat holder I made to go with this card. 

Last week I made a box with the Birdhouse die set, but I wanted to create somethings without sides that could go around a small cellophane bag. 

This is just two bird houses attached at the bottom with an accordion folded piece. 

This connector measures 1-1/4" x 2-1/4", scored at 1/4", 3/8" and 1" on the long side. 

I folded this accordion style and used it to attache two identical birdhouses. I put my cellophane bag of gummy worms in-between, attaching the bag to the back birdhouse with glue dots. 

I closed the birdhouses together and punched a hole for my tag, which is one of the sentiments available on my free printable.

Then I added some more little robins to finish it off.

Sprinkled with Love Slimline Shaker Card

Today is release day at the Not 2 Shabby Shop. I am excited for this Valentines Day release because there are so many cute things!  To kick off release day I am sharing a card with my favorite stamp set from the release. It is the Sprinkled with Love stamp set. I love images of food! Especially sweets!  So, this stamp set is right up my alley. There are two other stamp sets in this release that are also darling; Bouquet of Happiness and Happy Together. Now let's take a look at the Sprinkled with Love set in action.

I colored in each of my cookies using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush makers. Trying to match them to the colors in my clay heart sprinkles.  I have all the the markers I used shown in the video, if you are interested in the exact color combinations. I find coloring with these markers to be a very quick and easy way to color my stamped images in. But there are two crucial things you need to be successful with this coloring method. The first is Bristol Smooth paper, it has a very smooth surface which helps these water based markers to glide across the paper. I have not liked the results I get with other papers and the Zig Markers. Second is you need an ink that will not bleed, I use Versafine Onyx Black ink. I have all of these things listed and linked for you below. 

I used the slimline scalloped frame from Trinity Stamps to create the outside of my shaker, I thought this might look like the outside of a box of cookies with a window to see in. This die cut is 8-1/2" x 3-1/2". I added a window sheet to the back of the die set and put my cookies all in a row behind the window, so they appear to be in the box as well.  

Behind the cookies is a sheet of printed paper from the Winter Hues Slimline paper pack from Trinity Stamps. I love the light pink and light blue together. 

The shaker elements I used are clay hearts from the Craft Supplies by CC Etsy shop, one of my favorite places to get shaker elements. 

My card has two sentiments. One I stamped right on the window sheet with White StazOn ink. The sentiment reads, " You Make Life Sweet". White Staz On ink is permanent and so perfect for stamping on a window sheet. But you do want to be sure to clean/ scrub your stamp immediately after stamping. And, if you mess up on stamping your image, a little rubbing alcohol will take it off.  This sentiment is from the Sweet Senti-mini stamp set from Trinity Stamps. 

The second sentiment is from the Sprinkled with Love stamp set and says just that. I embossed it on a little tag and tied it around the card, giving it more of that "box of cookies" feel.

Lawn Fawn Special Delivery + Birdhouse Die 2 ways

Hello there and welcome to my first Stamp Set of the Month episode for 2021!  

This months stamp set is by Lawn Fawn, no surprise there, is the Special Delivery stamp set!  

Each Tuesday this month I will be bringing you new ideas with this set. In this episode I am brining in the new Magic Iris Birdhouse die set and showing you two ways to use that with the Special Delivery stamp set.

For the first project I showed you how to hid a Magic Iris on a slimline card. 

When you pull down on the tab the birdhouse opens up. 

You can see this little birdie has a lot of Valentine admirers! I think we should all flood each other's mail boxes with Valentines this year! Because it is up to use to make 2021 all that we want it to be! And I want it to be a year of happiness. And a box full of handmade cards would make me so happy! 

I love the background on this card, made using the new stencil set from Lawn Fawn, Conversation Hearts, and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink. 

To go with my card I made a little treat box using the same Birdhouse die set. This is a great die set, because you can use all the dies in the birdhouse set without ever having the Magic Iris. This little project is one of those ideas....

This little treat box, or as I like to call it... TWEET BOX, is so easy to make! 

You just die cut two bird houses and hook them together with a middle piece that you cut and score yourself. 

The middle piece starts out with a piece of card stock that is 1-1/4" x 6-3/4". 

Score on the long side at 1/4" and 1".

Score on the short side at 2-1/4" and 4-1/2". 

Cut on the short line to make 3 tabs on each side of this strip.  

Add adhesive to each of these tabs and secure it to one of the bird houses. Lining up the middle section of this strip with the bottom of the birdhouse. 

Repeat with the sides, lining up the edge of the strip with the edge of the birdhouse. 

Finish by adding on the second birdhouse. 

So quick and easy to make and so darn cute!  I could make a bunch of these! 

Inside I added a mini Stroopwafel  and a bag of Chocolate Mint tea!  So, it is not too tiny of a box.

Calligraphy Hearts Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month

Welcome back. Today I am sharing the Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month for January from Spellbinders. 

I had so much fun playing with this kit and making some Valentine Treat boxes. Take a look at these projects being made in this video: 

This kit has plates to hot foil with and dies to cut those shapes out and well as stand alone dies to make the flowers and leaves. This kit comes with a roll of red foil, which I did not end up using for these projects.

For my hot foiling, I used Aura foil. It's one of my faves. It is a gold foil, with an iridescent finish. 

On this box I used the Polka Dot Wall Stencil and Deco Foil Metallix Gel in White Pearl for the background. 

This box has a slightly different background using the Heart Wall stencil and Stickles Glitter Gel. I love the look of this gel, it has large and small pieces of glitter in it. 

The hearts, sentiments and flowers from this Glimmer Hot Foil kit of the month were so much fun to create with. It really is the perfect Valentines set. 

I love that it has 3 different hearts to choose from that you can hot foil and each one is so pretty. This Glimmer Hot foil set coordinates with many of the other club kit for January 2021. I will link them all below for you so you can check them out if you like. 

I used two of the sentiments from this set on each box. I love that I could have a greeting like, Happy Valentines Day and a tag that says I adore you from the same set. The XOXOXOXO from this set would make for a cute tag also. 

But the fact that there are stand alone dies of flowers and leaves is what makes this set great. It gives me that added detail to finish off my projects. So, it's another great Glimmer Hot Foil set from Spellbinders for January 2021!  Love it!

Slimline Valentines Kitchen

I think I am finally getting in the Valentine's groove. Do you make Valentine's cards to send out?  I think this holiday shouldn't be reserved just for couples. But should be for everyone. I enjoy sending out cards to my friends, sisters, and loved ones. 

Today's card features a stamp set that was part of the Warm and Cozy collection from Trinity Stamps that came out just before the holidays. I did not get a chance to play with it then and I loved it so much that I decided to make a Valentine's themed kitchen with it. The Cottage Kitchen set really is a versatile set that can be used year round.

Let's start by talking about the background of this card. It all started with the Slimline Room Builder die set. This is such a fun die set! The main die cuts a panel that is a room! It has a wooden floor, paneling on the wall and space to add windows above that. It also has dies that cut moulding and base boards for that added detail. It has several window options as well as a die to make curtains. It does not end there, you can add plants to your room as well with this die set. 

I die cut my room from white card stock and used distress oxide ink in Hickory Smoke to make my wooden floor gray. 

Fro my wall paper I used Spun Sugar Distress Oxide ink to put down a light layer of pink on the wall. Then I used a Polka Dot stencil to add dots over the top of my pink wall. Then I die cut my window opening and added a window frame, a curtain rod and curtains. And the moulding and base board finished off the scene.

Then I set to stamping and Copic Coloring all my images. That is my favorite part. I love adding in all my images to bring a scene to life. 

It make a Valentine's kitchen I stuck to red, pink, gray and brown for my color scheme. Much like I did with my Mini Slimline Gnome Valentine Card. 

I think this card would be great to give to a friend with a homemade sweet treat.

Spellbinders Large Die of the Month Jan 2021

IT'S SLIMLINE! 

I am so excited that the Large Die of the Month for January 2021 from Spellbinders is a Slimline die set. If you have followed me for any length of time then you already know that the slimline card size is my current favorite thing. The slimline sized card fits into a business envelope and is about 8-1/2" x 3-1/2".

This new die set has a cover plate die that is heart themed. And it has a set of 3 layering heart dies that go with this cover plate. As well as some accent dies of foliage.

Let's look at each of these cards so you can see all the amazing details. 

This is such a beautiful cover plate!  I love all the little hearts surrounding the 3 larger hearts. Before I die cut this panel I swiped a piece of white card stock with a gold stamp pad. After die cutting this panel is just a hair under the standard 8-1/2" x 3-1/2" of a slimline card front panel. 

You can see the hearts on this card each have 3 layers. I started with a light pink card for the bottom heart. I layered that with a dark pink heart for the middle layer. And on top for the most detailed of the three heart dies I used gold mirror card stock. I love this look, the kaleidoscope look!  

Around the center heart you an see the foliage die cuts that come in this set. They are designed to fit around the outside of the heart. But are versatile enough to use on any card. 

For the second card I used the same white card stock brushed with gold ink for the panel I die cut the heart cover plate with.  I then mounted this to a piece of brushed gold cardstock. I die cut only the most detailed of the hearts for the centers from gold foil card stock. I used the foliage dies to adorn the center of each heart. 

For both cards I hot foiled a sentiment for another added touch of gold. If you are interested in learning more about Hot Foiling, you can check out these videos I have done on the Glimmer Hot Foil system and see my cute creations.

Botanical Turnabout with Concord & 9th

Hey there my stamping friends. Today is my last post as a December designer for Concord & 9th. What a fun month it as been. I have been waiting for this one!  I finally am sharing with you the Botanical Turnabout stamp and die set! 

It's gorgeous, it is one of the easiest turnabouts and it is versatile!  A must have in my opinion.

Now let's take a closer look at these two cards. 

For this card I used four amazing colors from the Concord & 9th collection;  Sea Glass, Oceanside, Peacock and Dove.  This turnabout is an easy one to use because there are not a lot of precision points that need to be lined up. 

The die set that coordinates with this stamp set is pretty cool with this diamond shape that cuts out a thin diamond outline and a solid diamond shape as well. I die cut this die once from Peacock card stock and once from Vellum paper to create the diamond on this card. 

For the die cut sentiment I used Mushroom card stock. I love this dark gray!  

Now let's take a look at the 6" x 6" card that I made with this stamp set. 

For this card I used Ballet Slippers, Honey Suckle, Parsley and Wheat ink.  I love the spring like feel of these colors together. 

I also love that this background looks so good on a large 6" x 6" card and on an A2 size card. 

I had so much fun playing with this turnabout, I made several other backgrounds while I had it out and now I have a few on hand for the next time I want to make a card. You can see these background and the color combinations I used in the video.
