Welcome to the Spellbinders February Club Kit Blog Hop and GIVEAWAY!
On this hop you will see all kinds of inspiration using the club kits from the month of February. We hope to inspire you and give you some ideas to use with your kits if you are already a club kit subscriber.
If you are not already a club kit subscriber then you should know Spellbinders has SIX club kit offerings:
Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month
Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month
There are also several bundles and value clubs you can subscribe to if you want more than one kit of the month for and added saving. Check out all the kits and bundles HERE.
My project inspiration for you includes the Large Die of the Month - Birthday Wishes For Everyone, the Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month - Scalloped Rectangle Glimmer Essentials and a die set that is not a club kit but is a new release, Dancin' Hearts.
I have a video for you so you can see these kits in action and watch my slimline card and cupcake topper being made.
If you can not see the video on this screen, you can also view it right here.
Now let's take a closer look at the card I made.
This slimline card measures; 8-1/2" x 7" scored at 3-1/2". The card front layer in white is 8-1/4" x 3-1/4".
The sentiment on this card was made using the Large Die of the Month kit - Birthday Wishes for Everyone. It is a die set of large chunky numbers and it has a die that cuts out the word " Happy", which I also used on this card in black card stock. This set also has the "st", "th", "rd" and "nd" images in different styles.
Here is the entire Large Die of the Month Kit.
There are 14 dies in this set.
Each number is about 1-1/2" wide by 1-7/8" tall
If you'd like to see another card made with this die set check out my video HERE. And see how I used the long strait die in this set.
I brought in a Glimmer Hot Foil set, Special Months, to add in the word "February". It is hot foiled in black foil on red card stock.
I used the third rectangle from the smallest, that measures about 2-1/2" x 3-3/4", from the Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the month to make two rectangles on my slimline card base. Again I used black foil for my hot foiling. You can see this months Glimmer Hot Foil set in its entirety right here.
There are nine Glimmer Hot Foil plates in this set. Six scalloped frames and 3 sentiments. Here are the approximate sizes of each rectangle in this set.
Large: 3-7/8" x 5-1/8"
Large mat: 3-3/8" x 4-3/8"
Medium: 2-7/8" x 4-1/8"
Medium Mat: 2-3/8" x 3-3/8"
Small: 1-7/8" x 3-1/8"
Small Mat: 1-3/8" x 2-3/8"
Two things you should know about the Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the month; one - when you get this kit of the month it not only comes with a Glimmer Hot Foil plate set, but it also comes with a roll of foil, two - when you start your Glimmer Hot Foil kit of the month, your first month you are eligible to get the Glimmer Hot Foil system at 10% off. Find out more about this right here. The foil that comes with this months kit is my FAVORITE, it is Aura. Aura foil is gold with an iridescent finish.
If you'd like to see some more ideas with this Glimmer Hot Foil set, check out this video where I made a shaker card and shaker tag with this set.
Now let's take a look at the Dancin' Hearts Die set.
I used this new die set for the bottom square on my card. I think the pink cheeks, bow tie and LUV U sign make him so cute. But the fact that you can make his legs swing back and forth like he is dancing makes this card so fun!
Here are all the plates in the Dancin' Hearts die set.
There are 15 dies in this set. Some of the pieces are grouped together on one die.
The largest heart is approximately 2-1/8" x 1-7/8".
Several of the dies in this set etch the die cut pieces. Like the smile on the face, it is a cut line. The eyes are pressed into the paper. I love the detail this gives the finished piece.
Also there is a piece that you die cut as mechanism. It is the rounded piece with a hole in it. You use this to attach the legs to. In the hole goes a mini foam square. So this piece does not get adhered down, but sandwiched between the paper you stick the foam square too and the paper you stick on top of the foam square, which would be the heart. Now the legs can swing back and forth, making it and interactive, dancing heart! I show you how to put it together in today's video.
This die set has enough pieces that you can change up the look of this dancing heart. I thought it was so cute I just had to make another with a different look. So I decided to make another one for a cupcake topper.
To give this dancer a different look I die cut the face with pink card stock and gave her red cheeks. The bow tie now becomes a hair bow. I added freckles to the cheeks with a white gel pen as well as a white highlight to the eyes. Instead of holding a sign she is holding the flower from this die set. I put her on top of a paper straw, which can be cut down to fit on top of a cupcake.
Be sure to watch the video to see how I put this together. And on the back of the heart I added "be mine", die cut from this same set.
I had so much fun putting these projects together with all these fun new products from Spellbinders.
I hope you are inspired. And the inspiration does not end here! Now it is time to hop along and see what Bibi Cameron has made with this month's kits. She always has so much cool things to share, so be sure to check it out.
Remember to comment along the hop for more chances to win a $50 Shopping Spree to the Spellbinders Shop.
If you get lost on the hop here is the entire hop line up. Enjoy the fun and give some love to each designer as you go. And don't miss stopping by the Spellbinders Blog to be entered into the giveaway.
