Hello my stamping friends! Today's post is a part of the Spellbinders March Club Kit Blog Hop!
I am in love with this month's Large Die of the Month, Spring Together. It is an interactive die set with dies to paper piece together spring animals. It is really like 2 die sets in one, plus it has die cut sentiments! So maybe more like 3 die sets in one!
Speaking of two for one..... I love interactive cards so why not combine this interactive die set with my favorite kind of interactive card??? What is my fave??? Shaker cards! And that is what I did. This slimline card is a shaker with an interactive element, where the lever moves the bunnies back and forth.
ALSO, I wanted to make a Slimline shaker card without using any slimline dies. It can be done, you do not have to buy a special die to make a frame for a slimline shaker. I'll show you how in this video and you can see this card come to life.
If you can not see the video up on this screen, you can also view it on my YouTube channel.
Now let's take a closer look at this double interactive card.
In this video I show you how you can make a shaker card frame for a slimline card with out using any slimline dies. All you need is a blade style paper trimmer. Not a rotary cutter. It is easies to explain in the video, but you are basically using the trimmer to cut out the center of the paper leaving a 1/4" frame, as I did for this card. The back of my shaker is a fun plaid paper from the Playful Prints, it goes really well with the clay eggs. These eggs are from Trinity Stamp and are called Easter Eggcitement.
Once my shaker was made I set to die cutting my bunnies from tan, white and gray card stock. And the eggs from a grayish blue card stock, which I added some Sparkle Silk splatter too, for a speckled look. These bunnies and eggs are attached to arms that are attached to the lever from this Large Die of the Month. If you want to see a detailed video on how to use the interactive mechanism, watch my first video using this die set, right here. In this video I show you what the different dies are and how to put them together and make two different mini slimline cards.
When you pull the lever on this card the arms move back and forth, there for the the bunnies go back and forth.
The grassy borders on this card are die cut using the grassy die from this Large Die of the Month, you can just run it through the die machine twice to make a longer strip. Lay the die on a 8-1/2" strip of card stock, flush with one end and die cut. Then move the die over so it overlaps what you just cut a little bit. Run it through the die machine again to make a custom sized grassy border. Again, you do not have to have a slimline die to create it!
I embellished this card with the flowers from this die set. There really are so many great dies in this set.

I really applaud and like that you left in this video any oopsies and how to fix them. And wow you are full of great tips and strategies that I found very helpful. I cannot wait to get my kit. I had soft boiled eggs for dinner while watching your video and you video made me laugh thinking of bunnies playing with my empty shells - rocking to and fro! Thanks, I really enjoyed visiting and perusing your site.

There is so much going on in this card. The bunnies are cute on their own and would make a good "regular" card. Making it a shaker is extra (I love the sound it makes. My shakers are usually filled with paper confetti and I don't get that sound.). You didn't stop there though. That animation with the THREE of them dancing together- its like Disney World!
