Greatest Friend On Earth Hop

Now let's take a closer look at the interactive card I made for today's hop.

This 5" x 5" card is a fun scene as the Ring Master invites you into the greatest show and there is an interactive surprise on this card too. The Big Top actually opens up! 

First the curtains open, with a magnet closure, right where the word OPEN is. I have to pause here to let you know that there is a new stamp set, Papercrafting Magic, that has all the images and words you need for making interactive cards! 

Then the Big Top tent opens up to reveal the show. 

I used the Build-a-Big Top die set to create this fun interactive element. Watch the video to see how.

I am having so much fun creating with this new stamp and die set as well as all the other fun things in this new release! I know you are going to find a few things you will want to create with too.

Tiny Friends Mini Slimline Shaker Cards

Hello my stamping friend and welcome back to my blog. Today I am sharing cards from Episode 3 of my Tiny Friends stamp set of the month series. All month long I have been sharing ideas with this fun stamp set. Today the Tiny Friends are getting married and going to the fair!

My first card finds the Tiny Friends at the chapel, getting married. 

These Tiny Friends work great with all the village sets from Lawn Fawn. Here I used the Happy Village and Village Shops sets to great the scene. And in this shaker card is bird seed to bless this happy couple. 

One of my favorite things about this card are the birds. If you want to see how I reversed the image to have a bird facing the opposite direction be sure the watch the video.  

I also love the brides pink hair and the grooms tie, which I added in myself. 

Now let's take a look at my second card a scene of tiny friends at the fair, using the Coaster Critters stamp set. 

Do you see how perfect they fit in the booth and coaster cars perfectly!  I thought it would be fun to have a red, white and blue color scheme for this card. Then I could use the American a mix for my shaker elements from the Craft Supplies by CC Etsy Shop.

Mini Slimline Envelope Card

Hello my stamping friends. Today I am using the Mini Slimline Envelope Die from Trinity Stamps to make a card. This die set has so many other great dies in it to dress up your envelope or to use o other projects, which is why it is one of my favorite envelop die sets. My other fave is the Slimline Envelope Builder die, also from Trinity Stamps, it also has several other dies in the set! And today's project could be made with either of these two die sets. 

Now let's watch how I turned and envelope into a card.

Here you can see the envelope closed up. I used a belly band to hold it shut. Which gives a little hint of what is inside. 

And when you pull that belly band off and open up the flaps there is all kinds of cute inside! 

You can see on the right hand side there is a gift card. That is held in place by a die in the Mini Slimline Die set. The green die cut sentiments are also from this same die set!  And the scalloped rectangle, yes, it is also from this mini slimline envelope die set. I told you it was a great die set! 

I made dressed up this card using the Mouse House stamp set, cause it is darling and I love all things woodland! 

I just love this little house made out of a stump!!! And the mice are just adorable. The fact that their are mushrooms in this set is like icing on the cake! It made it a must have set for me. 

I think this kind of card is fun for a special occasion like Mother's Day because it is a little different than a standard card, making it a bit more special. So I used my Graham Cracker Alphabet to add in the word MOM. 

Is it okay to give yourself a Mother's Day card? Cause I this card just makes me so happy!

Tiny Friends Cottage in the Woods

Welcome To Episode 2 of my April Stamp Set of the Month series! 

This month I am featuring the Lawn Fawn Stamp Set, Tiny Friends. I had been wishing for this stamp set to go with my Build-a-House die set for a long time. So, I just had to pair it with this favorite house die set of mine! 

This card was inspired by my daughter who wants to live in a cottage in the woods. Watch and see it all come together.

Now let's take a closer look at today's creation. 

Isn't the Build-a-House the perfect size for these tiny friends!?! If you want to see more of the Build-a-House die set I have several videos using it you can see them in my Lawn Fawn playlist. 

See how cute they are and the little cottage in the woods. 

I used so many of my Lawn Fawn dies I have to help create this forest scene. I have them all linked for you below. 

Also, to make this house have more of a cottage feel I used the new Spring add on for Build-a-House. I love the rounded windows with shutters in this die set as well as the planter box with tulips in it! the fence pieces are also from this die set and added a sweet little touch to the scene. You can see in the upper window, you an open the shutters and see the pet frog, as all people who live in a cottage in the woods have! 

To add to my cottage I use the brick stencil and Vintage Photo Distress ink to add texture to the die cut house.  And here you can see that me and my hubby in the not so distant future are going to visit our daughter who is with her cat, in her cottage in the woods. That is her dream! And a surprise for Mom and Dad, when we open the door we see our other daughter is also there to visit. 

So, my daughter that wants to live in the woods also loves frogs and mushrooms, which is why I had to incorporate them into this card. So even thought it seems odd that that would be a frog in the upper window and giant mushrooms all around, it's all inspired by my daughter's dream of living in a cottage in the woods.

Prehistoric Slimline Pull Tab Card

Hey there stamping friends. Today I am playing with one of my favorite Heffy Doodle stamp sets, Prehistoric Pals. And I am making my favorite sized card, a slimline. I love interactive cards, so why not make this one interactive!?!

I love watching the Flintstones growing up and when I saw this stamp set, it brought back the happy childhood memories of that show. This card was inspired by those memories. Mr. Stoney (as I call him) is coming home from work in his car to his wife and pet dinosaur.  And when you pull the tab.....

The car moves!  I love that Heffy Doodle has a slimline pull tab die set, the pieces is the die set are perfectly sized for making my favorite sized cards into interactive cards. 

But I think my favorite thing about his card is the volcanic sky! 

I used 3 colors of Distress oxide ink, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, and Candied Apple. I started out using the Cloudy Sky stencil. And added layers of splatter over that using Distress Oxide Sprays. 

The gray hills also got a spritz with Black Soot Distress Oxide spray to give them some texture. 

For my sentiment I stamped; "have a mammoth day" so I added the cute mammoth to the inside of the card. 

I just love having little surprises in my cards, like interactive elements and cute little images on the inside too.

No Line Coloring to Alter and image

Today I'm playing with one of my Trinity Stamps gnome stamp sets, it from the latest easter release, All Cracked Up. But I want to bust that gnomie out of this shell! To do that I will be doing a bit of easy no line coloring. And then this gnome can be free to experience new things. And today that is a latte!

Using some Antique Linen Distress ink to ink up my Gnome allowed me to do some No-Line coloring of this image and omit the egg shell all together. The top of the shell has now become the new bottom of his beard. I just had to soften the lines out a bit with a more curved edge.  I used Copic Markers for my coloring today, but you can do no-line coloring with any medium that you like. Some high lights with a gelly roll pen really helped add some dimension to this no line colored image

I cut out the gnome instead of die cutting to help remove all remnants of the egg shell. Then my gnomie was ready to be popped up on anything, peeking up out of whatever I could imagine. So why not a latte? 

For my latte I used the Summertime Sips die set from Trinity Stamps. Which is a great die set to make icy drinks, but I altered the dies a bit to make this warm latte. 

The two stamped sentiments I used are from the Frappy Camper stamp set. I added in die cut letters to spell out GNOMIE using the Graham Cracker alphabet die set.

Swish & Pop Lazy Days Slimline Card

Are you like me and that you have to tell yourself it is okay to take a break. And sometimes we need to hear that from someone else. And maybe there are times we get to be the person to let a friend know it is okay to take a break. That is what my card is all about today. 

I am playing with the new Lazy Days April Box of the Month from the Not 2 Shabby Shop. I used a couple of the stamp sets in the box to create a relaxing afternoon in the grass scene with a hidden message that gently reminds... it's okay to take a break.  And the new Swish & Pop die set from Lawn Fawn was the perfect interactive die set to make this hidden message work.

Let's take a closer look at today's card. 

A day in the park with music, books, coffee, chocolate, a kitty and NO ALLERGIES of course, sounds perfect! 

It would be so nice, but are you like me, would you be laying there thinking about all the things you should be doing instead? 

That's when we need the gentle reminder...

It's okay to take a break. I love that the message is not see when the recipient first looks at the card. and Then it is revealed as a gentle reminder. 

As you can see I had a lot of fun with this card, using a bunch of images from the Me Time and the Not Today stamp sets to create this scene. These sets come with other images that make them great for indoor scenes too; a couch, chair and bath tub. Be sure to check out the April Box of the Month, Lazy Days from Not 2 Shabby.

Episode ONE - Tiny Friends

Hello Stamping Friends! Welcome to Episode One of my April Stamp Set of the Month series, featuring Tiny Friends from Lawn Fawn. Each Tuesday in the month of April I will be bringing you new ideas with this darling stamp set. New episodes air at 8pm MST on my YouTube channel.

For this card I brought in the new Virtual Friends stamp set as well. I picture sending this card to one of my viewers and it is that viewer watching one of my videos. So on the first screen of the Reveal Wheel scene you see me talking in one of my videos. 

Then you turn the wheel and the next screen is the dreaded..... LOADING..... 

A reminder of the current times, of everyone on the internet at the same time!  

And the last screen is the making a super cute card of course!  

On the walls are things you might find hanging in my stamp studio. A picture of Toby, my Cockapoo. A giant monogram, which I do actually have, but it is wooden and not pink. Maybe I should just paint mine!  

The sentiments on this card are perfect way for me to say THANK YOU to each of you who watch my videos... Sending (virtual) hugs and the awesome card!  I LOVED making this card and can not wait to play MORE with my Tiny Friends stamp set. Mini Cards for Treat Bags with Love, Dani

Welcome back stamping friends. This week the Trinity Stamps design team has been spotlighting one of the artists who creates art work that get turned into stamps for the Trinity Stamp shop.  This week that artist is Dani Bondurant of Love, Dani Studios. She designs stamps that are what I like to call "all inclusive". The sentiment and the image are one piece of art. So, you can stamp these images and that be the entire focal piece of a card. The other thing I love about her designs is that the sentiments she creates are uplifting or encouraging and bring a smile. 

The image I chose to feature is the Sweet Friendship stamp. I used this image to create mini cards. These mini cards will top some treat bags, so I can fill them with a friends favorite treat and drop it off as a happy surprise.

I had some treat bags left over that I pulled out to use for this project. And they are the inspiration fo the color pallet I used.

I just love to create with images of food, especially sweet treats; candy, donuts, cupcakes, cookies, ice cream, cake.... bring it on. It's a sugar free way to enjoy something sweet! So I was drawn to this image and was very excited to color it up and use it. 

I think the bold bright colors are great for spring and summer. And this image is so much fun to color because the possibilities are endless for color combinations. I did very simple Copic coloring here. 

To make the mini cards I used the Slimline Scalloped Card Panels and Banners Die set. This die set creates scalloped panels for slimline cards. I took the largest of the scalloped panels and die cut it from card stocks that coordinated with the colors in these bags. When flat this scalloped rectangle is about 8-1/2" x 3-1/2", when folded I now have a mini card that is 4-1/4" x 3-1/2".  This is the perfects sized mini card for my Sweet Friendship image. 

To dress up the mini cards just a bit, I splattered all three of them with white acrylic paint thinned out a bit with water. I love the look it gave the mini cards and tied them in nicely with the bags. 

To attach the mini cards to the bags I pulled out some wooden clips from my stash and topped them with a die cut bow, using the Bunch of Bows die set.

April Glimmer Kit of the Month

Hello my crafty friends! Today I am sharing the April Glimmer Kit of the Month from Spellbinders. I LOVE the look of hot foiling and so getting a Glimmer Hot Foiling Kit in the mail each month is very exciting to me. AND, I love that Spellbinders adds in a roll of foil with each month's kit!  The months kit is a set of borders and coordinating sentiments. It also contains 2 dies. This month's foil color is SILVER.

The border dies in this months kit are 5-3/4" in length, perfect for an A2 sized card (5-1/2" x 4-1/4"). But also just long enough for a Mini Slimline card (6" x 3", but size can vary a little) as well! So I decided to make a couple Mini Slimline cards with this set. 

For the first card I hot foiled the borders onto three different shades of purple card stock with the silver foil. Each of these pieces of card stock was 5-3/4" long. Perfect size for a card front for a Mini Slimline card. 

The dies in this set, cut the edge in the same curve that the simmered borders make, either in a smooth line or in a scallop. I used both of these dies on this card. 

I also used the "For You" sentiment on this card. 

The florals I used are from this months Large Die of the Month Kit. also a curved border theme!  You can check out what I created with that kit right here. 

I mounted all the pieces on to a 2-3/4" x 5-3/4" white card stock panel and then onto my 6" x 6" panel that is scored at 3" to make a mini slimline card. 

For the second card I brought in some Fuchsia foil to add to the mix. 

I hot foiled the floral border onto white card stock and water colored the images using Watercolor Pencils and a Wink of Stella pen. 

Then I used the plate with the dotted line and scalloped border to hot foil on my three shades of purple card stock. Then cut the edge off with the coordinating die. I layered them all up and added them to a card base that is 5-3/4" x 6" , scored at 3". I also cut way part of the front of the card base so that the curve of the card is the card front. I love this look! 

Here are the two cards once more. I love the silver foil with the shades of purple!

April 2021 Large Die of the Month with Spellbinders

Happy April, is it just me or did March fly by?  A new month means all new club kits from Spellbinders!  

Today I'm sharing the Large Die of the Month, Universal Curved Border Set. There are 11 dies in this set. Four of them are border dies that are about 8-1/2" long. You can mix and match these dies to create unique border that fit not only slimline sized cards but everything in-between. There also 7 floral dies, so you can die cut some flowers and leaves to accent your creations. 

This die set coordinates well with the Clear Stamp of the Month and the Glimmer Kit of the Month. You can check out all of the club kits right here. In today's video I will be using the Clear Stamp of the Month, Around the Bend. And stay tuned for another video featuring the Glimmer Kit of the Month tomorrow.

Here is a closer look at the slimline card I made using this new die set. 

For my card, I used every die in this set. I mixed and matched all the border dies to come up with this lay out. There are so many possibilities with these dies. The floral and lattice border are dies that are going to cut a design into your paper. Then are two dies that cut way your paper in a curve or a scallop. 

I used the additional floral dies to accent the white die cut floral border. 

The sentiment and the stamped branch across the bottom of the card are both images from the Clear Stamp of the Month, Around the Bend. I love how the branch just finishes off the look of this card. 

To embellish my card I used a lot of pearls. I used some teeny tiny pearls down the center of my lattice strip and slightly larger ones in the centers of my flowers. 

I love the mix of dark and light card stocks on this card, it feels so springy. And I am loving the start of this new season!
