Hello there! Today I am sharing a new collection from Spellbinders, it is the Trim The Tree collection.
There are three products that make up this collection.
Layered Christmas Tree Stencil
Shining Christmas Tree Glimmer Set
All three of the products work and coordinate with each other. In this video I am going to show you all of these projects up close and show you different ways to pair them together. Then I will be creating 6 cards! Watch the video right here.
If you can not see the video up on this screen, you can also view it right here.
Now let's take a close up look at each of the cards I made with this collection.
This card uses all three of the products in this collection. I used the stencil to ink blend a tree that I then die cut out with the coordinating dies to make the top of the focal point tree. I also used the stencils to make a snowy background that I also added splatter too with Sparkle Silk and Cool Pool Silk. The Merry Christmas sentiment is hot foiled using the Shining Christmas Tree Glimmer set from this collection.
The panel for this shaker card is left over from the previous card. I added a lot of splatter to this panel using Silk and Rustic Forest Distress Oxide ink. the star is die cut out and it is embossed with a detail die that comes in the Oh Christmas Tree die set, it only embosses and does not die cut, it is a very cool touch to this set. The round accent embellishments on this card are die cut circles that come in the same die set that you can use to decorate one of the die cut trees. I loved them die cut from holographic paper and used as an embellishment like I did here. Again, the hot foiled sentiments are a perfect touch to this card. All the hot foiling I did on today's card is done using Prism foil. It is silver with an iridescent finish.
I wanted to show this tree on several card sizes, so you could get the feel of the actual size of the tree. Here I made a mini slimline card. The tree was stenciled with Rustic Forest Distress Oxide ink and then I used Nuvo Glacier Paste in Sea Sprite to add the second layer of stenciling. I love how this turned out! I used the same glacier paste for the stenciled background of falling snow.
This tree is all stenciled. The first layer is Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide ink, the second layer is Rustic Wilderness, the third is Metallix Gel in Pearl White (which seems to have been retired). The finished size of this card is 4-1/4" x 4-1/4". I use the Forevergreen Embossing folder for the background, it was the perfect match for this collection! The star is die cut from holographic paper and the sentiment is hot foiled with Prism foil.
This slimline card uses the stencil to create a background of trees and snow. The focal image tree is also stenciled, I added a second die cut tree behind it for a bit of shadow and to help it stand out. This tree is also hot foiled for added detail and shine.
I love that I can hot foil amazing details on to these trees!
This card is extra special because that gorgeous tree is a removable ornament. It attaches to the card with the help of Paper Crafting magnets that are super strong and thin.
I made sure to make the card so that when the ornament is removed the card is still pretty. This super fun idea was inspired by Chelsea Comer of Inky Stamper, which is where the Paper Crafting magnets I used on this card are from.
This super sparkly ornament was made with the Oh Christmas Tree die set. The base tree is cut from light green glitter paper and the top detailed tree is cut from silver holographic paper. The touches of Prism hot foil really add to the amazing shine of this piece.
I had so much fun playing with this collection. There are so many possibilities when it comes to mixing and matching the different sets in the Trim The Tree collection I just had to make so many things!
I have listed and linked all the things I used for you below.
