Hello again my crafty friends. Today I was up on the Trinity Stamps Instagram page with a LIVE demonstration. I created a Halloween Nightscape slimline card using some of the newly release halloween products from Trinity Stamps as well as the Halloween Distress release!
Every year I have to make a green and black Halloween scene, with a green sky! And the Nightscapes stamp and die set is the perfect set for this years creation.
If you missed the LIVE on Instagram, you can watch it right here.To make the green sky on this card I started with the October Sky stencil set and used the mask of the moon on a piece of white card stock. Then I used Mica Stain Sprays to spray the sky. I used both the Bubbling Cauldron and the Holly Branch. After spraying on the stains I also splattered some on using the end of the spray nozzle. For a few darker spots of splatter I added in a little splatter of the Tree Lot Mica Stain Spray. This spray is so very shiny! I love the look of it and that the shine and shimmer is built in to the the color!
After spraying on the night sky, I picked up all the spray that was on top of the moon with a scrap of card stock to save for later use in this card. With the stencil removed there is a giant WHITE moon. So I added a bit of Twisted Citron Distress Oxide in around the outside of the moon to bring down the intensity of the white. I stamped on a few bats from the Nightscape stamp set. AND, add a few die cut clouds from the Nightscape die set in vellum. You should also know the the Nightscape stamp set has images for making a Christmas night sky, a superhero flying over and fireworks. A great set for so many occasions.
For the black layer of the card I stenciled on the trees from the October Sky stencil using the Crypt Grit Paste. It is a stone colored paste with black flecks in it. When it dried, the trees are a bit translucent and make for a great element that does not stand out too much and is just the right amount of spooky! The opening on the card front was made using the new Moonlit Town Cutout Die. It's a great die for all the options in the Nightscape stamp set.
I also used the Empty Tomb spray to splatter on the black for a starry effect. And I could not forget an accessory, so I added a few Glowy Stars, that actually glow in the dark!
Remember that excess mica spray I picked up off of my moon stencil and saved for later? That is what I stamped my witch on. I did not want her to have a white outline and stand out too much from this background, this way she has an outline that matches the background.
The Happy Halloween sentiment I used is from the Shake Your Bones stamp set. I did not use it but the coordinating die set, has a die that bubble cuts this sentiment! So cool!
You can still watch the video of me making this card even if you missed it LIVE. Just visit the Trinity Stamps Instagram page to find it.
