Introducing Crescent Creation

Hello stamping friends. Today I am part of a blog hop celebrating the opening of the online shop, Crescent Creation. The shop owner is my friend Neha Tulsyan. She previously had an Etsy shop where I would get some of my favorite shaker elements from. On her new website you can still get these fun embellishments but she has also expanded her line. She now carries her own Digital stamps as well as products from several companies that you already love like; Lawn Fawn, Honey Bee Stamps, Avery Elle, Ranger, Pink Fresh Studio and more!

Now let's take a look at the card I made for this hop and then I will have all the hop links for you below.

For this card I combined Digital Stamps and traditional stamps. The slide image is from a Digital Stamp Set, Park Fun. I thought a slide image was such a fun image to add to my collection. And I knew it would pair well with my Avery Elle Peek-a-Boo critters. So, I asked my daughter, what animal is most likely to go down a slide. She said PENGUIN! And so this card was born. I thought it would be really fun to do a Christmas card with this slide. I'm pretty sure I have never seen a Christmas card with a slide before!!!

The little penguin I added to the top of the slide is from the Avery Elle stamp set, Polar Peek-a-Boo Pals. I love that it looks like he is about to take a slide down, he even looks a little apprehensive. But not to worry, his friend (in this case) the polar bear safely made it down the slide and over the snow.

I found some glitter paper from my stash with a light pink tint and thought it would be perfect for my snowy or icy hill. I also paired up Digital sentiments from the Park Fun set with a traditional stamped sentiment on this card.

I altered the "to say" sentiment by cutting off the word "hi", so it would then say... "Sliding by to say Happy Holidays".

I accented this card with some clay elements, Snowflake Mix, also from the Crescent Creation shop. These darling snowflakes were the perfect finishing touch.

Peek-a-Boo Flight Over the Farm

Hey there stamping friends, welcome to Episode Five of my March Stamp Set of the Month series! This is the last episode using the Avery Elle stamp set, Peek-a-Boo Flight. I have had so much fun creating scenes for these aircraft to fly in! I hope you have enjoyed it too!

Today my plane is flying over the farm. I have memories of sitting in my grandparents backyard, who lived in rural Idaho, watching crop dusting planes flying over the near by fields. And that is the inspiration behind today's card.

To fit all the fun into this card I had to go BIG! This card is size A9, that is 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" when closed. You just take a sheet of 8-1/2" x 11" piece of card stock and score it at 5-1/2" to create this size card. And that gave me enough room to do all the things I wanted to do in this scene.

When I decided to do this card I thought the Barn Scene Builder die set from Honey Bee Stamps was the perfect starting point for a farm scene. I have also been anxious to open up my Frame Builder die set from Honey Bee Stamps as well, and I ended up using it to create the fence for the card. And it was the perfect spot for me to add my barn yard friends.

The Frame Builder die set that I used to make my fence is such a cool die set. I got it from the Craft Supplies by CC Etsy shop, who is now carrying stamps and dies from Honey Bee Stamps and Avery Elle. This is also the shop I like to purchase a lot of my embellishments from.

The "crop" images are from a Lawn Fawn stamp set called Happy Harvest. I stamped 5 of the stalks in Moss ink by Altenew. And it was the perfect image for the look I was going for.

All the critters I used are from the Peek-a-Boo Pets stamp set and are just adorable!

I love making cards where I am able to pull from my stash and combine different companies on one card. Do you do this? Or do you tend to stick to one product line at a time?

Peek-a-Boo Flight Episode 4

Hello my crafty friends. It is Tuesday and that means time for another Episode of my March Stamp Set of the Month series. This month I am featuring the Avery Elle stamp set, Peek-a-Boo Flight Stamp Set.

In this video I am bringing in one of my favorite Peek-a-Boo friends, the unicorn from the Peek-a-Boo Fair stamp set. This unicorn will be flying the airplane in a 3D scene card and the helicopter in a slimline shaker card.

I really wanted to use this stamp set with some fun colors, showing that this set is good for any one and lots of different occasions.

Here I have gone with a Pink and Green color combo for this 3D Box card. I think this set is so much fun for 3D scenes. It gives the feel of the airplane really flying. And isn't that unicorn the cutest inside the airplane??? The unicorn is from the Peek-a-Boo Fair stamp set.

The die set I used to make this box card is the Slimline Wide Box die set from Trinity Stamps, you can find it and all the things I used linked below.

I really wanted to put a rainbow in this box card, but it just did not seem to go, so I made a second card.

You know I can not do a stamp set of the month series with out doing a shaker card! This rainbow shaker is filled with clouds and raindrops, which make a rainbow, right!!!

I love the helicopter on the card at a slight angle. It really gives it that feel of flying.

The rainbow inside this card is done with the Avery Elle die set, Rainbows. I had some left over pieces from a previous make. For that card I die cut the bows for my rainbow from panels that I had water colored. I love that I had left over pieces ready to go for this card

Slimline Light Up Card with Peek-a-Boo Flight

Hey there stamping friends! It is Tuesday and that means Episode 3 of my Peek-a-Boo Flight series is here!

In this week's episode I am making a light up card with Trains, Planes and Automobiles! Well, just one of each, but I knew when I saw the airplane that I wanted to make a card that included the car and train from my Peek-a-Boo collection. And to get all three of them on one card a slimline was the perfect size card.

Now let's take a look at this card up close.

This slimline card measures 9" x 4", just enough room for each of my vehicles to fit. The card and the train have headlights that actually light up with the use of EZ-Lights by Pear Blossom Press.

I added a little stamped image next to the car, showing where to push the button that makes the lights glow.

The EZ-Lights really are a cinch to use. All you need is tape. And you can make anything light up! If you have not seen these lights in action please watch the video for this card, you'll be amazed at how easy it is.

The rest of this car is pretty simple, a road for the car, a hill for the train and mountains for the plane to fly over. The mountains and tree are from Lawn Fawn die sets, which I have linked for you below.

Peek-a-Boo Flight Episode Two

Hey there my stamping friends! Today is Tuesday, and that means it is time for another Stamp Set of the Month episode. This month I am featuring the Avery Elle stamp set, Peek-a-Boo Flight. In today's episode I am putting both the helicopter and the airplane from this set into a slimline shadow box card. If you follow me you know I am currently obsessed with this Slimline Shadow Box die set from Scrappy Tails. I just had to make a cloudy 3D scene for these aircraft and this die set was the perfect thing to do that.

The base of this card is the fabulous Slimline Shadow Box die set from Scrappy Tails. I also used this die in last months Stamp Set of the Month series for a park scene for my frogs. It is so fun to make a 3D scene with this die set, perfect to make these aircraft look like they are flying through the clouds. If you love this 3D scene you will also like the 3D picnic card I made using this die set, I even incorporated a shaker card into it!!!

The slimline clouds I used to make the scene are from the Slimline Rainbow Builder die set by Trinity Stamps.

Peek-a-Boo Flight Episode One

Hello Stamping Friends!

Happy March, bring on the Spring weather!!!

Today is Episode One of my March Stamp Set of the Month series! Yay, the start of a new series always makes me so happy!

This month I am featuring the Peek-a-Boo Flight stamp set by Avery Elle. This stamp set has an airplane and a helicopter that you can put any of the Peek-a-Boo critters in to make some really fun scenes. They also are great stand alone images.

The Slimline Pull Tab die set I used is from Heffy Doodle. It works great for either a horizontal or vertical pull tab card. Which is great because I wanted my airplane to go across the length of my card and my helicopter to go up and down the card.

When you pull the tab the air plane files over the city and the banner it is pulling unfolds.

The sentiment reads, "Let Your Dreams Take Flight".

The city scape is from another Avery Elle stamp set, Superheros. It is a great stamp set on it's own and you can use that city scape image on so many other things as well!

I used this same city scape stamp on the vertical pull tab card as well.

The pilot of this chopper is from the Peek-a-Boo Scary set.

I chose him because he is facing the front of the Helicopter.

And when you pull the tab the helicopter rises up above the city.

The sentiment on this card reads, " The Sky is the Limit".

I left the inside of these cards blank so I can personalize the message when I am ready to send them out.

Hot Cocoa Bar sign and tour

Hello there my stamping friends.

Today I am sharing how I made this sign for my Hot Cocoa Bar and giving you a tour of it as well!

On my sign I am using an image I downloaded from the Silhouette Design Store, Hot Cocoa by Jillibean Soup.

That is the image on the base of my sign, which I made to look like it was on a chalkboard, using Print and Cut in my Cameo Silhouette studio. If you do not have a Silhouette you could easily find a hot cocoa printable. Etsy is another good option for things like this.

To dress up my sign I used the Holiday Latte digital stamp from the Not 2 Shabby Shop.

I wanted the cups to have a Santa and Elf feel to them. I colored them using Copic Markers.

To take these cute cups of cocoa up a notch I added a cute little critter from the Peek a Boo Holiday Tag Toppers die set by Avery Elle.

They add the touch of cutesy, that I love. But a sign like this would be equally as cute with out the critters.

I added a bit of holly and a bow to finish it off and added it to my Hot Cocoa Bar.

Matchbook Shaker Window Card with Avery Elle

Hello my stamping friends. Today's card is part of a fun collaboration I did with my friend Lauren Taylor. Lauren and I have been following each other on social media for years, both loving each others style and recently started chatting more and are now on the Lawn Fawn Fans team together. Recently Lauren saw the Glimmer Hot Foil backgrounds I was making with Opal foil and loved the look, so I sent her some backgrounds to play with. We then decided we should do a collaboration video. So, we are both using Glimmer Hot Foil backgrounds and an Avery Elle Peek-a-Boo stamp set (to two) to create a Halloween card.

Now let's take a closer look at this Matchbook card.

This card measures 4-1/4" x 10-1/2", it is scored at 4-1/4", 4-3/4" and 9-1/2"

You then fold it just as if it was a matchbook. Staple the bottom 1" flap so that you can then tuck the front flap into it. I like to cover up the one inch flap with patterned paper so that the staples can not be seen from the front.

This matchbook card has a shaker window on it, meaning the circle is cut into the card base so that you can see through the shaker to the inside of the card.

Here is what the card looks like open and you can see my fun size bag of m&m's tucked in there. Such a fun way to give a Halloween card.

I then used my leftover circles to make a tag.

I just could not waste that fun paper and thought a tag to tie on to a bag of goodies would be lots of fun. I used the witch again, because there is just so many fun ways you can color her in!

I had so much fun doing this collaboration with Lauren. A challenge always gets my creative juices flowing.

Paper Crafters Unite Against Racism

Welcome to the Paper Crafters Unite Against Racism Hop.

When Justine Hovey asked for crafters to join her for this hop and show support to all who are suffering from the effects of racism, I knew I wanted to join. I had been thinking about how I could use my gift of paper crafting as a way to speak up about this issue.

Let me tell you where I am coming from. I am a white woman. Living an upper middle class life. I believe all people are created equal. I believe the greatest commandment is to love one another. I also know I have privilege that I take for granted that so many do not have. I know that saying nothing will never bring change. I don’t have all the right words. But I do have a talent and a passion and I want to use that to say, this is not okay. White privileged Americans can make change by acknowledging there is a difference and it’s not okay. I’m hopeful that saying something is the first step in being a part of change.

Let's take a look at the card I made with the theme of support and that we are better together.

It's no secret that I am in love with all things Peek-a-Boo from Avery Elle! Using a lot of different critters of all different sizes, colors, and places would represent how I feel. My hope is that not only will we one day be able to accept each others differences but celebrate them. Making our world a little bit smaller. Yes, we are all so different, but we are all people living on this planet together.

I had so much fun coloring up all these animals from several different Peek-A-Boo sets with my Arteza Brush Pens to put over the top of what I am calling my earth background. The earth background was made with just blue and green water color. Love how it turned out so much, I had a hard time covering it up. But I made more that one, which you can see on the left in the above pictures. So, I can make a second card with that.

I stamped and colored so many critters I had enough to put on the inside of the card.

The "better together" sentiment is one I made, with a water brush filled with water and drops of ink. I then stamped a sentiment over the top that says "No dreamer is ever too small, no dream is very too big".

Rainbow Shaped Cards

Hello stamping friends. Today I am playing with the Rainbows stamp and die set by Avery Elle. You might remember me using this set on my slimline cards with the Peek-a-Boo Fair stamp set. There is so much more that you can do with the Rainbow Stamp and Die set that I knew I would be bringing it back out to share with you. Mostly, I wanted to make shape cards with it. I NEED rainbow shaped cards in my life!

The first card I made is a stand alone rainbow shaped card using all the dies in the set to make an inlaid rainbow.

Each of the bows for the rainbow was die cut from watercolored panels I made in this video. They were left overs that I has saved and made making this card even faster. Since I had already used the red bow in the largest spot I started this rainbow with purple and then continued on with the red and so forth creating the entire rainbow. The clouds I die cut from some glittered card stock to make them a little extra special. This card is very easy to make and fun, like a little puzzle.

For the next card I took this shape card and turned it into a Tri-fold card.

For this card I stamped the Rainbow image on the rainbow shape card and colored it in with Copic markers. Then I added some cute little sloths to the front from the Peek-a-Boo Pals stamp set. Sloths and rainbows go together, right! I mean, what doesn't go with a rainbow?

Then the rainbow opens to the cloudy panel with another sentiment.

Peek-a-Boo Fair Episode 5

Welcome my stamping friends, to episode 5 of my Peek-a-Boo Fair series! It's been a fun month of creations with this Avery Elle stamp set, a great addition to the Peek-a-Boo line! In this episode I am jumping in with both feet to do some no-line coloring. Really it's a light line coloring. Meaning, you stamp your images in a light color of ink and use that as a guide to color in your image so that the line goes away and only your coloring remains. For this technique I used Antique Linen Distress Ink to stamp my images. I used stamp from the Peek-a-Boo Fair set, Peek-a-Boo Pals and Market stand for the card. I also brought in Peek-a-Boo Pets for the cute treat holder I made to match my card.

To color in my images I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers on Bristol Smooth card stock. My method is to outline the image with a darker marker and blend that softer with a lighter marker and color that out either with the same marker or a third lighter marker.

You might be able to tell right off the bat, but this card is a 5" x 7". I needed a bigger area to create my night at the fair scene, so that I could put the ticket booth next to the Ferris wheel.

The background on this card was created using PanPastels from the Spellbinders shop. First I put all the hearts and stars from the Peek-a-Boo Fair and Peek-a-Boo Pal stamp sets on one block and stamped them onto Whip Cream card stock with clear pigment ink. Then I applied the PanPastels from the Rich Sorbet collection. The pastel sticks to the ink making the image slightly darker. It's a fast way to create a background, it takes so little pastel to get this look and they blend with almost no effort.

In this photo you can see the gold shimmer on the background, added using Shimmer Gold Splash Spray by Fun Stampers Journey.

To take this card up a notch, I added to the inside of the card as well.

Now let's take a look at the treat bag I made using the Treat Topper die by Avery Elle.

The farm animals have snuck out at night to get themselves a treat! That is cotton candy in my 4" x 6" cellophane bag and not dryer lint, fyi.

I love that this die cuts the perfect bag topper with a little handle. I added a sentiment tag to the handle to finish off the look. The little farm critters are from the Peek-a-Boo Pets stamp set. I LOVE how the little pig turned out. I think I am getting the hang of no-line coloring and will have to keep playing with it.

Peek-a-Boo Fair Episode 3

In Episode 3 I am making my favorite kind of card, shaker cards with the Avery Elle stamp set, Peek-a-Boo Fair.

For the shaker elements in both of these cards I used Nuvo Rainbow Quartz Triangles. Like kinda look like unicorn horns!

For card one, I brought in the Peek-a-Boo Pals stamp set to go with my Peek-a-Boo Fair set. My unicorn needed some friends to ride the Ferris wheel with him, that is where the sloth and panda came from.

One thing I really love about both of these cards is the Cloud Mat background. If you watch the video you can see how I used this die by Avery Elle three ways to make the cloud backgrounds in these cards.

If you look close you can see the blue sky in the background, that look was created with a little ink smooshing and Distress Oxide ink.

Card two features the Market Stand stamp set, another great set for all your Peek-a-Boo critters.

I turned mine into a kissing booth.

I love the rainbow clouds in the background.

I was brave on this card and hand wrote in the sign with "UNICORN KISSES". Not sure I love it, I wish my hand writing was better. But I am letting go of perfectionism!

Peek-a-Boo Fair Episode 2

Hello my crafty friends! Welcome back, today's post is tons of fun! Pictures might not do these fun Tri-Fold cards justice, so be sure to catch the video! Both of today's card feature a unique opening to a Tri-Fold card. I cannot wait to show them to you.

First up, let's take a look at how the Ferris wheel card opens.

With some partial die cutting, the front of this card is the Ferris wheel.

Then you open up the sunset panel to the inside of the card.

And there is a cute critter from another Peek-a-Boo set, Peek-a-Boo Scary Pals set, on the inside.

Moving on to card two.

Love is in the air right here....

When you open the front cover, the bumper car layer, there is a second sentiment.

And a cute little surprise on the inside.

Avery Elle Peek-a-Boo Fair Episode 1

Hey there crafty friends! It's April already and that means it is time for a new Stamp Set of the Month series. For the month of April I will be highlighting the Avery Elle stamp set, Peek-a-Boo Fair! It is the cutest stamp set, with a Ferris wheel, unicorn, and bumper car! And since I am already in love with the Peek-a-Boo collection from Avery Elle it was a must have set!

For today's cards I am putting this set in motion! To create motion I used an Action Wobbler and the Reveal Wheel die set.

Card one features the Ferris wheel. I colored a unicorn for each of the carriages, cause they are sooooo darn cute with their little hooves hanging over the edge! The pink unicorn is the one popped up on an action wobbler. There's always that one guy who has to rock the carriage on the Ferris wheel! Make sure to watch the video making of these cards so you can see it in action.

For the amazing sky I used the Cloud Mat die by Avery Elle. It's a great die to use behind the Ferris wheel because they way the die cuts out the wheel, you can see through the spindles. It give the scene a bit of depth.

Card two features the Bumper Car and is set in motion using the Reveal Wheel die set by Lawn Fawn.

As you turn the wheel back and forth the Bumper car moves. It's too cute!

Cupids Card and Treat Box

Playing with a new stamp set from Avery Elle today, Cupids. It is a such a cute stamp set that has three different cupid images and tons of coordinating images as well as sentiments.

I have had this set sitting out waiting to use it and I am happy I finally got some projects made with it. I am excited to share them with you, in addition to this blog post you can also watch the making of these cards in this video right HERE.

I felt like my card needed a coordinating treat box with it, cause it's Valentine's Day, everyone should get a box of chocolates!

To color in my cute little cupids I used my Arteza colored pencils. These images are so quick and easy to color. Colored pencils seemed like the perfect medium to use for the soft look I was going for. I wanted the birds and the cupids wings to match my Cool Pool card stock, so I layered up two different colored pencils; A030 Mint and A089 Ocean Blue. Coloring with the Mint first in a very light layer. Then I went over the top of that with the Ocean Blue in another light layer. Finally finished that off with a light layer of the Mint. In order to help these blend smoothly I used a blending stump and Gamsol.

The cloud backdrop is the Cloud Mat die by Avery Elle. I die cut it from Cool Pool card stock and then glued the frame from the Snapshot frames die set from FSJ. The Snapshot frame die set is currently on sale at the Spellbinder shop as part of their Big Sale on Dies. This made a smaller area for my cupid to fly on.

I also love the white embossed background made with the I Heart embossing folder, also by FSJ. Isn't it cute how the hearts peek through the clouds.

Now let's take a look at the coordinating treat box.

This treat box was made with the Charming Cottage die set by Spellbinders. It was designed to be a Christmas box that you can make into a gingerbread house. But it can be used year round when paired with your other stamps and dies. Plus, it is also on SALE at Spellbinders! BONUS!

I used one of the squares in the set to make an opening into the box so you can see the treats inside! There are about 16 kisses inside and is fills it up about half way. So there is more room in there than you think!

I used White StazOn ink to stamp the cloud on the window sheet for a fun added detail.

Gel Press Paper Piecing

Hello crafters! Today I a fun one! I am getting painty, with the Gel Press. I will be making two different backgrounds to use in todays card and doing some paper piecing with the prints I make.

Watch and let me know if you think Gel Press print making is for card makers, is it for you?

This is Episode 5 of January Stamp Set of the month series featuring the Peek A Boo Balloon stamp and die set. Let me set the scene. I picture a Saturday at the park and there's a Hot Air Balloon booth giving rides. The balloon is tethered so you don't have to worry about going to high, it just a taste of hot air ballooning.

Here's the card, see if you can spot all the places I used Gel Press prints.

First up, the sky background on this slimline card is a Gel Press print. I used die cut clouds from the Cloud Mat die as masks on my Gel Press.

I also used several different Gel Press Prints to paper piece the ballon in a rainbow of prints.

For the Market Stand, I paper pieced faux woodgrain print, which I also show you how to make in the video.

Both the animals are from the Peek-a-Boo Pals stamp set and were colored in with Copic Markers. The hippo and monkey have to my faves!

Once again I did a slimline card, a card that fits in a business sized envelope.

Here are the measurements I use:

Card Base: 9-1/4" x 7-3/4" scored at 3-7/8"

Card Front: 3-3/4" x 9-1/8"

Slimline Pull Tab Card with Peek A Boo Balloon

Hello, it's time for Episode 4 of my January Stamp Set of the month Series. Today I am using the Pull Tab die set to create an interactive card with the featured stamp set, Peek-A-Boo Balloon. They are the perfect match! And speaking of great matches, the Peek-A-Boo Balloon set seems to be the perfect match for Slimline cards! I have decided that I am making a set of Slimline card this month, as this is the third one! And, next week, might be too!

Let's take a look at the card.

First up lets' talk about why I thought of making a hot air balloon card with a car in it. Being from a town that has a lot of hot air balloon activity you learn a few things. One being that when a balloon takes off there is a chaser card that follows the balloon and is then there when it lands to collect the ballon and what not and take it and the people home. Although I am sure in the day of the cell phone it makes all of this much less adventurous as it sounds.

If you want to try making a Slimline card, a card that fits into a business sized envelope here are the measurements.

CARD BASE: 9-1/4" x 7-3/4", scored at 3-5/8"

CARD FRONT: 3-3/4" x 9-1/8"

Having an interactive element on any card makes it that much more fun! And I love the Pull Tab paired with the Hot Air Balloon!

How about this Peek-A-Boo card!?! I love that Avery Elle has given us so many fun ways to use the Peek-A-Boo animals! The card just makes me smile when I put the paws on the steering wheel!
