Yesterday I challenged myself to take my Bloom Box card and make it my own, put my own touch on one of the cards from the kit.
Now it is such a darling kit that I found this to be a big challenge. But I found a way to make a couple little changes.
Bloom Box is a fun subscription box I get in the mail each month. It comes with a full size, exclusive stamp set, 4 card kits and 4 envelopes and a full color direction booklet. Each card is a unique project with a fun technique.
For this card you get to create your own background using ink and a dry paint brush. Its the pink and white layer on this card.
I LOVED all the accessories we got for this card, gingham ribbon, twine, washi tape, and candy dots!
You can find out more about Bloom Box from FSJ, HERE. This box, Life's Sweetness is still available till the end of July.
And you can see me making this card and telling you about my weekend birthday special for all who order with me in the video below.
You can shop my online store HERE and get your Journey Holiday Catalog, the Coach Collective Bundle of tutorials and a surprise gift from me!
Thank you for taking time out of your day to stop and visit my blog. Please let me know if you have any questions or feel free to leave a comment below, I'd love to hear from you.
Today I am sharing another stamp set that is great for masculine cards. The set is called Set Sail (SS-0618). It came in my June Bloom Box from FSJ. I love nautical themed everything. Also, in the Bloom Box are four card kits. This is one of the kits made into a card, with a little addition of my own.
I added the World Map background stamp to the base of the card. I think it helps draw the eye into the ship. I love that little ship in a bottle!
The cork on the bottle has been paper pieced. The bottle is stamped with Black Licorice on Cool Pool card stock. Then I stamped just the cork end on a piece of Oatmeal Cookie in Black Licorice, cut it out and glue it over the top of the one on the Cool Pool Card stock. Attention to the little details on hand made cards is what makes them so special.
To color the ship I used the Journey Color Burst pencils. Can I just say, it is so relaxing to sit back and color an image and watch it come to life.
Now, let me tell you about the snafu I had with my waves. First of all I fussy cut them before I realized there is a die for the waves! No worries. Second, I covered my waves with Journey Glaze. I was moving things around on my desk a while later and a piece of paper touched the almost dried glaze. I tried carefully to remove it but, paper stuck to it. I ended up scraping that paper off and was feeling like I ruined my card! Then I realized it gave the waves a bit of textures and so I decided to leave it instead of rip it on and make new ones. There is no stress in stamping friends! Especially when you have a kit ready to make cards with. I love the Bloom Box when I want to play but my creative brain is needing a break.
Another bit of news on Bloom Box stamp sets. After the month is over Bloom Box stamp sets will now be available in my On-Line store for 3 months! So, you can purchase the Set Sail Bloom Box today, but after today you will be getting the July Bloom Box. If you want the Set Sail stamp set (SS-0618) and die set (DI-0488), search them at my On-Line store through September.
You can see all the cards in this kit in the video below.

This week I have been having fun playing with my May Bloom Box. A Bloom Box is a subscription box that comes to your door with an new stamp set and four projects to make with that set.
This week I made two of the cards in the box as well as two cute things to go with those cards.
The sentiment on this card is what lead to the making of the chocolate bar wrap. I love you more than..... Chocolate!
I used the design from the card to make this gourmet chocolate bar wrap. I stamped the same background in black ink for a fun black and white background, with a little bit of color peaking out at the edges. I repeated the layered circles, using different colors.
Here is the second card and a matching note pad.
I really love the black and white with a pop of color.
I made a little belly band to go around the note pad and again, repeated the design from the card on to this wrap.
Try using the same elements on one project you love to make a coordinating gift or card, it takes some of the stress off thinking what to make. And I had a lot of fun playing with how I could replicate the look of a cute card design in a different way.
I share the chocolate bar projects on my most recent Facebook Live video. You can watch it below.
May is a busy month of gift giving. We have graduations, Mother's Day, and teacher appreciation. This month I am also making little gifts for my team who are going with me to Fun Stampers Journey convention. Today's little gift holds Post It Flags. I am giving these to my girls because at Convention we are the first to get our hands on the brand new FSJ catalog. We will be pouring over that and squealing like little girls on Christmas morning. So, the flags are for us to mark the catalog with things we love, have to have, are dying over, and things cute enough to eat.
The colors of the Post It note flags are what inspired this project. They reminded me of the colors used in the May Bloom Box.
I used the Color Me Happy Stamp set from the May Bloom Box kit and was inspired by one of the cards in the kit.
I love that the set has a mix of background images, sentiments and focal images.
~Add White Liner Tape to the back of the flags while still in their container to keep them lined up, taping them together.
~Before gluing the flaps of the gift card sleeve into place, lay the insert with the flags on it in place. Then fold over the flaps and glue them down. Otherwise you will not have enough room to get the flags in and out of the holder. Make sure to hold the flaps down for a minute or so while the glue dries and repeat with the bottom flap.
~For the tassel like element at the top of the holder, cut 5 pieces of twine at about 7" long. Punch a hole in the top of the holder and insert 4 strands of the twine. Fold in half so that the ends of twine line up. Take the 5th piece of twine and tie around the folded twine in a knot. Pull the ends up to now be part of the tassel. Trim the ends so that the are all the same length.
If you'd like to see how I made these and the coordinating card from the Bloom Box you can check out my LIVE Facebook video below. Please note that I changed the focal image on the front of the holder from what I did on the video.
AND, I am still offering a free spool of my favorite twine, Licorice Twist to anyone who orders a Bloom Box TODAY!!! (5/12/18)
There are two ways to get a Bloom Box, you can learn more about your choices HERE.
If you have any questions about this projects, bloom box or Fun Stampers Journey please let me know and thank you for letting me share my love of paper crafting with you.
THANK YOU GIFT

Sharing one of my favorite subscriptions boxes today, the Bloom Box by Fun Stampers Journey. As a subscriber, each month I get a box with an exclusive stamp set inside and 4 kits to make projects with my new stamp set. They also send a full color booklet with directions. There is also a video on YouTube each month demonstrating the projects.
I especially loved this months stamp set, A Great Adventure.
I took a few liberties with my cards and made some changes to them, using supplies that I had on hand. Except this first card, I made exactly how the directions showed.
My favorite part of this card is the black background with the mountains stamped on it in white.
This card I only changed up slightly, using brown inks and silk. I love the little sign!
Again, on this card I used Dark Roast ink, in place of Black Licorice. And I was inspired to create a mini composition book to match this card.
This last card I used the large red triangle to create a tent. And made a few changes in the placement of the pieces.
Here are all the cards from the March kit, plus the extra project that I created. It's a GREAT stamp set that I am happy to add to my collection.
If you want to get this Bloom Box you have to the end of today to get yours.
There is a 6 month subscription option as well as a one time purchase option. You can find out more HERE.
If you'd like to see me create these cards, you can find video of all but the tent card on my Facebook page.

Included in the kit is a full color booklet with directions on making the four cards. I have made two of the cards in the kit, so far. Look how fun.....
The second card I made turned out SO cute, I made a few changes from the suggested card to make it my own.

The cards are so cute and the stamp set is AMAZING! But as with all Bloom Boxes this stamp set is only available for one month! So, if you love the Hello Sunflower stamp set you have to get your Bloom Box right away. You can get your Hello Sunflower Bloom Box HERE.
I was so excited to play with this beautiful stamp set! I have yet to make the cards in my box, but I did make another card. It all stared with a print I made on my Gel Press. When I made it I was not super impressed with the print but then one corner of the paper got me thinking sunflowers.
Here is the print, it is an 8-1/2" x 11" piece of card stock.
Then I cut a piece from it that is 4" x 5-1/4" for my card front, and I chose the yellow corner. Here is what that piece looks like up close.
And this is the card that resulted.
I stamped the large sunflower in Black Licorice ink and colored it with my Color Splash pencils and then blended my coloring with a small Blending Brush filled with water. My favorite part is the blue around the flower!
The crinkled piece of blue card stock is Beach Ball. I wanted to distress it, so I wetted the card stock. Then I crinkled and scrunched up the paper. Wading it up into a ball several times. When I was satisfied, I laid it flat and smoothed it out with my Crease Tool. It was quite wet, so I dried it with my heat tool. That made the paper nice a crisp again, here's what it looked like.
After this I brushed my Whip Cream stamp pad over it, so that the higher areas of the card stock picked up some of the ink and the lower areas did not.
I also stamped the background of the card with one of the sentiments from the stamp set, "YOU ARE Beautiful" in Kiwi Slice ink. I didn't want the sentiment to look perfect so when I stamped it I stamped it repeatedly and quickly about 3-4 times, blurring the image out a bit.
I also splattered a little Sparkle Silk on the background too for hints of shimmer. And I could not leave the card base out, so I stamped it with the Canvas Background stamp with Kiwi Slice ink, giving it the look of texture.
I can not even tell you how much I love making my own backgrounds for my cards with my Gel Press! It inspires me to create cards, which inspires me to make more Gel Press prints. If you'd like to learn more about making Gel Press prints and are in the Boise, Idaho or Eagle, Idaho area I love for you to join my Gel Press class. All the details on the class and links to register are HERE.

So, I thought I would share with you two of my creation with this stamp set.
I really wanted to use my Graduated Dots Background stamp with the Pop Art stamp set. It is my favorite stamp and that is because it looks like "Benday Dots" that make up much of Pop Art.
I stamped the woman image in Black Licorice for the focal image and then in Candy Apple and Beach Ball, which I used as layering pieces.
I finished the card off with a die cut circle, punched arrows and the little punched out stars.
To color both of the woman images in my cards I used the Color Burst Pencils. Look at the amazing, bright colors I was able to achieve.
Card number two incorporates the Graduated Dots background stamp as well, on the yellow layer. This card was inspired by the idea of sitting down with the funny papers and drinking your morning cup of coffee. You can see the brown coffee mug rings and drips in the back ground. For that look I used the bottom of a yogurt container, like stamp with my Hazelnut Blend ink pad. An actual much seemed too big for this look. The "drops" were made using the large stylus end for the Bloom Tool. I dipped it in a puddle of Hazelnut Blend ink and stamped the end of the stylus tool right on the card stock.
I added some strips of card stock that I punched with the hand held Star Punch and secured them with a staple.
I love how fun this stamp set is, unique and playful.

Today I want to share with you the cards I made from the June Bloom Box, a subscription box from Fun Stampers Journey.
This box features the Fun Cards Stamp Set.
In the box I got 4 make and take kits to make 4 different cards. And I ended up LOVING this stamp set.
Let's take a look at the kit cards.
What a great card to send to your bestie! My favorite part about this card is the SWEET BERRY GINGHAM ribbon! It made my heart happy! One of the things I think is great about the Bloom Box is that all the supplies in the box are products from Fun Stampers Journey, so if I try something I like and can go ahead and order that. This ribbon is one of the next things I will be ordering!
And then there is the Heart Sparkle Drops! Yes, I will be ordering those too. What do you think about the Silk splashes on the card, I love how they dried permanently to the ribbon. But if you do not like that look you can always skip adding the splatter, or do it just not the card base for a more subtle look, I did that on another card from this kit. This one here:
The splatter on this card is much more subtle, as I put it on and then layered on my elements.
To color the backgrounds of the little cards I used the little Sponge Dauber. It's so cool how the little sponges velcro on to the handle, its a great system.
On this next card I realized I did not have all the supplies that the instructions called for, but I did not let that stop me. I used what I had to finish the card. No Silk splatter on this card, as I did not have the right color, but I feel this card has enough that I don't miss the splatter.
The last card in the kit has such a cute sentiment.
Add a gift card for the local coffee shop and you've made someones day! Is it nice to know that with a little ink and paper you can make someones day?
Did you happen to catch my Facebook Live Video when I made these cards? I made all 4 in under an hour! You can still view the video here:
So, let me tell you a little more about the Bloom Box.
When you subscribe, it is a 6 month commitment. The monthly price is $24.95 per box (plus shipping a tax).

Included in your kit are 4 make and take projects with that stamp set. These kits have all the cut supplies for you to make 4 unique and different cards. There is also a full color brochure with directions to complete your projects.
You use your own ink pads and adhesive. I have found it easy to complete the projects even if I don't have all the suggested supplies.
This is also while supplies last, so to ensure you get the box of the month order by the 15th to get the box for the current month.
Take a look at the box for July! You still have a few days to subscribe or order to get the July Bloom Box, Mermaid Kisses.
