Don't you love it when you can use something more than one way? I love it when I can use a die to make different things, other than just the intended shape. When I first saw the Card Carrier Bag die, I knew I wanted to try and make this gusseted bag into a flat bag. If you have not seen the Card Carrier Bag before, check out this one. I have done just that, check it out.
This flat bag started out with a couple Gel Press Prints.
I dressed up my flat Card Carrier Bag with the Magical Unicorn stamp set, it really is the cutest unicorn stamp set!
I colored her mane with Journey Color Burst Pencils, covered that with Journey Glaze and while the glaze was wet sprinkled on some Sparkle Cuts. The horn and the hooves were colors with a Gold Gel Pen.
The bag is accented with Rainbow Drops, which has to be one of the coolest accessories I've owned. There are SO many in the container I am not afraid to use them, I don't have to hoard them, I can create with them and make super cute things!!!
I thought you'd like to see how to make the Card Carrier Bag into a flat bag, so I have a video for you below. Make sure you click over to YouTube, so you can subscribe to my channel.
Here is a list of all supplies I used to make the projects, click on an image to shop for it in my online store:
Thank you for taking time to stop and visit my blog.
I am in love with my Gel Press! What an amazing tool for paper crafters. I love making my own background papers. And I have to say doing Image Transfer was so much fun.
You take a magazine print and lay it down on your Gel Press covered with a thin layer of black paint. You let the image dry and cover that with another layer of paint and pull the print.
Part of my Gel Press passion is not only using it, but teaching others the joy of print making on the Gel Press. You can find out more about my Gel Press 101 virtual class HERE. It's FREE to anyone who purchases a Gel Press and Brayer from me. Or, if you already have a Gel Press and Brayer you can subscribe for just $7.95 per month. All the details are HERE.
All those who have taken Gel Press 101 from me are in my private FB group, The Gel Press Journey. I did a live video on how to make Image Transfer prints in that FB group. The video is still there for viewing for all who join Gel Press 101. Please let me know if you have any questions.
If you'd like to see more of my Gel Press creations, you can find them HERE.
Donut you love free things!?! Today I have a fun printable for you, and it is FREE!
I wanted some fun sentiments to go with my creations with the Donut Worry stamp set this month and decided to make some of my own with some fun fonts. I couldn't keep them just to myself, so they are available to you as printable right here on my blog. All the sentiments are in a dark brown font. Print them on white or colored card stock. Then cut, punch or die cut them out to add to your donut creations.
For my swirled iced frappuccino, I die cut the large cup from the Coffee First die set from a Gel Press print. To make this print I bartered a few different colors of brown acrylic paint on my Gel Press and picked up the print with Whip Cream card stock. Viola, the perfect paper for coffee drinks!
This new die set has several fun pieces for making custom drinks, check it out...
Just think of all the fun there is to be had with this die set.
The frosting is covered with Journey Glaze to give a realistic shine.
I have linked all the products I used to make this card below, click and image to shop for it.
And here is your Donut Sentiments printable. Click on the image to open it in a new window and save or print it out.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Please let me know if you have any issues with the printable and feel free to leave a comment, I'd love to hear from you.
Hey stamping friends! This week I am going to be sharing with you the versatility of the Let's Eat Cake stamp set by Fun Stampers Journey. It is obvious that this stamp set makes for some CUTE birthday cards. But I also thought it would be fun to play around with it and see what other fun things I could do this this set.
Today's card is a Valentine card, because, well, it is 2/14. This is a card I made for a friend. I colored my macarons in pinks and red for the occasion using my Color Burst pencils.
The background paper for this card was made on my Gel Press, you can see the video of how I made it on my Facebook page. I'd love for you to follow me there, I do live video's every Friday night with exclusive projects just for my followers.
Be sure to check back here on Friday as well, when I share another idea with this same stamped image, you're gonna flip over it!
I hope you have a fabulous Valentines Day. Just enjoy the day no matter what it brings and find a way to show love to someone today.
I am back, showcasing another card created with a Gel Press Print. The paper that they Hydrangea from the Bloom Burst stamp set is stamped on is a print I made with paint on my Gel Press. It is a simple print, just one color of paint, Cool Pool. Perfect for stamping on.
First I stamped the Hydrangea in Black Licorice ink. Then I stamped the Postage Stamps ATS randomly around the flower in Cool Pool ink. The last touch is a splattering of Cool Pool Silk.
The sentiment is stamped on another Gel Press print that features a gray paint with a bit of blue.
And I added a few flowers from the Patootie Burst collection by Fun Stampers Journey.
The stamp set makes it so easy to make a pretty card with such a beautiful image and 3 sentiments. I love that kind of stamp set, takes the guess work out of it for me. But with the addition of my custom prints this card is still special and unique.
Thank you for letting me share my creations with you. You can find all of the things I used to make this card HERE.
Wouldn't you love to get a valentine in the mail? I think Valentines Day is all about how I can show love to the people in my life. And one of the ways I do that is with cards. I've heard it said a card is a hug with fold in the middle. Cheesy, I know, but and unexpected card can really put a smile one someones face and if it's hand made, yeah, that 's a hug!
I wanted to show off a Gel Press print on book paper and this is the card that resulted.
I never thought I'd use orange on a valentine card but I love the touches of orange in the book page background and the heart really pulls it out of the background.
And how about those XO clips!!! Think of all the things you could put these on! It's the little things that bring me joy! (These Love Clips are a Bloom Benefit from Fun Stampers Journey that you can get for free with a $100 purchase #AC-0347)
Have you heard of the Gel Press? It's such a fun and easy tool for making your own prints, it's one of my favorite things, so please let me know if you have any questions about it. I have done a few video's on it on my Facebook page, you can find that HERE.
SUPPLIES:
Thanks for visiting. I'd love to hear from you, your thoughts and comments make my day!
It's almost flower season here in Idaho. We have had the most mild winter! The bulbs are starting to bloom, which reminds me of the name of the stamp set I used for today's card, Bloom Burst!
Isn't is so pretty! I love this stamp! I have to tell you about the cool way I got the color on this flower.
I used prints I made on my gel press. Let me show you the prints...
I just stamped the flower on both of these pieces and then cut out the blooms from the purplish piece and the stem and leaves from the green piece. Then I glued those onto a flower I had already stamped on Whip Cream card stock and had cut out. The key to paper piecing is to cut the top layers out right on the stamped line, cutting a bit of it away even.
Making Gel Press Print is pretty easy, with a Gel Press, a brayer and some paint. If you are interested in learning more about the Gel Press ask me about my Gel Press 101 program.
Supplies:
Thanks for stopping by and letting me share my creations with you.
It is a mat made out of a non-perishable gelthat is durable and reusable. You brayer paint onto the Gel Press and press card stock onto it to pick up a print, which is a very simple explanation of how to do mono printing on the Gel Press.

I am so excited to share my love of print making with you. It really has transformed my card making and paper crafting. I needed an injection of new creativity in my crafting and the Gel Press was the spark that I needed! And sharing this new found fun with you is even better. Heather Carter told me at my last class, "You just blew my mind!". So be prepared to have yours blown as well.
Take a look at a few of the prints made during one of my Gel Press 101 classes.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I can not wait to start making prints with you!
Today I am sharing the last card from the Gel Press Print swap I did with Georgie. We have shared 3 other cards using prints swapped, links for these cards are at the end of this post.
Today's card features a print I made using the Polkadot Wall stencil. Who doesn't love polkadots!?! Okay, maybe don't answer that if you are the one person who does not, because then I will be sad for you.
Are you familiar with the Gel Press. Well, it is my new bestie in the craft room! You would not believe the satisfaction and joy that come from making your own prints. And it is not hard once you know the basics. Soon, I will be sharing with you the basics, helping you get started in print making using the Gel Press. Right now, you can visit my YouTube channel where I have some videos on Gel Press print making.
I love the circle under the cake, which I embossed the Fringe Wall with Clear Pigment ink and Clear Embossing powder.
Here you can find all the products I used to make this card.
If you are interested in these products, just click on an image to view it in my On-Line Store.
Do you love to color? If so the cornucopia image from the Bountiful Thanks stamp set is a great image for you! Sometimes I am in the mood to color and other times not. When the mood was right I stamped this image and pulled out my Journey Color Burst Pencils.
I loved adding all the shading and blending with these amazing colored pencils. But if I was not in the mood to color, how amazing would this image look embossed in gold on colored card stock!
The background paper I used is a print I made using my Gel Press and the Vintage Screen stencil. I was trying to make a autumn inspired print and chose my colors of paint accordingly. This background is also one the pieces that I swapped with my bestie, Georgie. She has also made a card with this print and you can see it on her blog, Stampin Everything. If you want to see the other cards we made for our Gel Press Print swap you can view the Bubble Wrap card HERE and the Wood Grain card HERE.
All the fun things I used to make this card are shown below, click on an image to view it in my online store.
COACH COLLECTIVE
I have teamed up with 11 other Journey Coaches to bring you a collection of 12 tutorials each month. The October Coach Collective is now available.
Does woodgrain bring you joy? That's crazy right! That a little texture and varying colors of brown would bring a person joy. Well it does for me! I love all things woodgrain! And when my bestie Georgie told me she had created a print on her Gel Press that had the look of woodgrain I was like WHAT, STOP IT, tell me more. And this sparked a swap. Georgie and I both are Gel Press obsessed. Making our own background papers makes us giddy and when your in your forties and something makes you feel giddy again, it's kinda a big deal! We now have so many prints that we created, we decided to swap some with each other. For this swap, we cut our 8-1/2" x 11 prints into card front size and sent each other 15 mystery prints. I picked two of hers that I wanted us to make cards with. This print is one of the, the WOODGRAIN print. Georgie is also making a card with this print. So today you get to see BOTH of our creations.
This is what the print started out like, this is a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece. To give it more of a woodgrain look I took a few of my brown toned ink pads and used a dragging motion to create more streaks and lines over the paper. Here's the result.
Joy and giddiness collided when I saw this! Gel Press Woodgrain!
When came to making my card I decided to pair it with another of my faves, Cool Pool card stock.
I hope that my card has brought you some joy. I would love to share with you how to make Gel Press Woodgrain plus how to make the reverse image of the beaver on Facebook live tonight. So, click over to my Facebook page, like it, follow it, leave me a comment and then come back tonight at 9:30pm MST and I'll show you how you can recreate this look!
Now, you should really click over to Georgeann Manning's blog, Stamping Everything, and check out her creation with this print.
And if you did not catch the bubble wrap print post from our swap you can find that one HERE.
Here you can find all the products I used to make this card. Click on any of the images to view them in my On-Line store.

What do you do when you are Gel Press obsessed? How about a swap with your Gel Press obsessed bestie!
That's just what I did. My bestie, Georgie and I decided to send each other a mystery package with card front size prints that we made on our Gel Presses. From the batch she sent me I picked two that I wanted us to make cards with and she picked two she wanted us to make cards with. And since the prints were originally 8-1/2" x 11" we now have pieces of the same prints. So, we will both be making 4 cards using the same Gel Press Prints.
This card is made with a print that Georgie made using bubble wrap on her plate to press texture into the paint.
The stamp set I used is Got You, an ATS (Artist Trading Stamp) you can get for FREE from Fun Stampers Journey with a $75 order. I love the whimsical style of the bears, reminds me of the original Winnie the Pooh.
I used my Color Burst Pencils to color the stamped image and then added some Journey Glaze to bring the look of rain to life.
Be sure to check out Georgie's card on her blog, Stampin' Everything. And please let us know what you think. We will be back soon with our other creations from our swap.

If you follow my blog at all and have read any of my posts in the last month then you know, I am in love with the Gel Press!
I have made hundreds of prints with it now and am currently working on using fabric to create texture in my prints. But, today I am going to share with you one of my FAVORITE prints I have made to date. First of all you should know that dried paint on the Gel Press makes me so happy. I love when I make a print on top of dried paint, left over from a previous print, I get a glorious surprise! In this video I will show you how to pick up some of that dried on paint using a stencil.
Here is a piece of the first print and the card I made with it.
I did not take a picture of the entire print before I cut it up, WHY!?! But, here is the piece I used to make my Viva Los Muertos card. Isn't it so amazing! I love the specks of black, the wash of light color underneath, and the streaking in the stencil print! I knew right away that this would be a great piece of paper to make a Day of the Dead card.
I do find this card somewhat busy, but then again, I think it captures the feel of the holiday. I stamped the skull image and then the flower image repeatedly with Black Licorice ink in a pattern around the edge of a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whip Cream card stock. Then I cut out the center of the card stock, creating a frame. I sponged the edges of the frame with Rock Candy ink, giving it a softer look.
I also randomly stamped the sentiment "DIA DE LOS MUERTOS" in Black Licorice ink on my print. I purposely did not ink the stamp very good, so I could get a more distressed look.
My dancing Catrina is stamped with Black Licorice ink on Whip Cream card stock. Then I colored her in using my Journey Color Burst Pencils. To cut her out I used my Details Pro Shears. I sponged around her as well with the Rock Candy ink. To finish her off I covered the entire image with Journey Glaze and while the glaze was still wet I sprinkled on some Journey Sparkle Cuts.
The fringed flowers were made with a retired Bloom Benefit that I got for free with an order from Fun Stampers Journey. You could use tissue paper to make a flower or a die cut flower in place of these.
Now onto my second card, this one really showcases the print. So, lets start off with the print, this is the second print I made in the video.
I cut this print in and used one of the pieces to make this card.
I mounted the piece onto a Sweet Berry card (size 4-1/4" x 11" score at 5-1/2"). The sentiment is stamped with Clear Pigment Ink and embossed with Gold Powder.
I added this to the card with foam squares, popping it up off the card. To dress it up I added some Fashion Gold Pearls and a strip of Sweet Romance Tape. The tape is a Bloom Benefit, you can get for free with purchase. See page 13 in the catalog.
Today, this card is going out in the mail to share some love with a friend. I love that I can send a little hug in the mail with my cards!

Today I have a video tutorial for you, showing you a technique with your Gel Press using ink pads and rubber stamps.
Here is the final print I made in this video and then I used this piece to create two cards.
Here is the video tutorial on how to make this print.
I couldn't resist making some cards with this fun paper right away. For these cards I used the exact paper I made in the video.
To start off I sprayed the background paper with Gold Shimmer Splash, giving it an all over shimmer of gold. Which does show up very nicely when you hold the card in your hand. Second, I added a bit of splatter using the Cranberry Bliss Silk. I layered up my background with a piece of Cranberry Bliss card stock and a card base of Pumpkin Bread. I double stamped my sentiment in Pumpkin Bread ink and then over that I stamped the sentiment again with Dark Roast ink. I wanted it to have the layered look that the background has. I stamped the leaves on Whip Cream card stock and cut them out by hand. There is a coordinating die set for this stamp set, but I wanted very little white border on these leaves. Once the leaves were cut out and mounted to the card with foam squares, I covered each leaf with Journey Glaze.
The second card I made with this print is a little more simple.
I started by die cutting out the biggest leaf with the coordinating die set, Hello Fall, from the center of the background. Then I lightly stamped a piece of Cranberry Bliss card stock with the Canvas Prints background stamp and Dark Roast ink. The sentiment is also stamped with Dark Roast ink. I adhered this piece to a panel of Tangerine Fusion card stock and then added the background layer over that with foam squares. I tied on a piece of Special Day organza ribbon. The addition of the little acorn hanging from gold thread is my favorite little touch to this card.
I have made a list of all the things I used to make this print as well as the cards. Click on any of the images to view them in my On-Line Store. I'd love for you to shop with me if you want to purchase any of the products seen here as well as shop from the entire FSJ product line.

Well, I did something I have not done in a very long time! I joined a swap with other coaches in my team. Not only did I sign up for one swap, I actually signed up for 3! A Halloween, Fall and Christmas swap. I love the cards I created and am so excited to share them with you. Today I am sharing the Fall card I created and a video to show you how I made it as well.
My favorite thing about this card is the blue background paper. I made that paper myself! I used a Gel Press to create it. A Gel Press is a mat or plate made out of oil. When you pick it up it is heavy for its size and rubbery like a silicon mat, but much thicker. To create your own prints on the Gel Press you need acrylic paint and a brayer. You squirt paint on the Gel Press and brayer it to cover the plate. You can use several colors of paint or just one. On this print I use the Polka Dot wall stencil. You can also see some yellow and orange peeking through, that is dried on paint from a previous print. You don't have to clean your plate, let remnants dry there and then the next print you make that wet paint will pick it up for you giving you a nice surprise on the next print you pull. Here you can see the entire 8-1/2" x 11" piece of paper that I cut the piece for this card from.
Sometimes when I look at my whole prints I wonder, what am I going to do with that. And then when I cut it up and combine it with my stamps and ink I am in even more in love with it!
I added some interest to the other pieces of my card with Silks and Splashes, thread and pearls and more. Check out the making of this card in the video below.
Please let me know if you have any questions about this card or the Gel Press. All the products I used to make this card are listed below, to view them in my online store just click on an image.

The cards are so cute and the stamp set is AMAZING! But as with all Bloom Boxes this stamp set is only available for one month! So, if you love the Hello Sunflower stamp set you have to get your Bloom Box right away. You can get your Hello Sunflower Bloom Box HERE.
I was so excited to play with this beautiful stamp set! I have yet to make the cards in my box, but I did make another card. It all stared with a print I made on my Gel Press. When I made it I was not super impressed with the print but then one corner of the paper got me thinking sunflowers.
Here is the print, it is an 8-1/2" x 11" piece of card stock.
Then I cut a piece from it that is 4" x 5-1/4" for my card front, and I chose the yellow corner. Here is what that piece looks like up close.
And this is the card that resulted.
I stamped the large sunflower in Black Licorice ink and colored it with my Color Splash pencils and then blended my coloring with a small Blending Brush filled with water. My favorite part is the blue around the flower!
The crinkled piece of blue card stock is Beach Ball. I wanted to distress it, so I wetted the card stock. Then I crinkled and scrunched up the paper. Wading it up into a ball several times. When I was satisfied, I laid it flat and smoothed it out with my Crease Tool. It was quite wet, so I dried it with my heat tool. That made the paper nice a crisp again, here's what it looked like.
After this I brushed my Whip Cream stamp pad over it, so that the higher areas of the card stock picked up some of the ink and the lower areas did not.
I also stamped the background of the card with one of the sentiments from the stamp set, "YOU ARE Beautiful" in Kiwi Slice ink. I didn't want the sentiment to look perfect so when I stamped it I stamped it repeatedly and quickly about 3-4 times, blurring the image out a bit.
I also splattered a little Sparkle Silk on the background too for hints of shimmer. And I could not leave the card base out, so I stamped it with the Canvas Background stamp with Kiwi Slice ink, giving it the look of texture.
I can not even tell you how much I love making my own backgrounds for my cards with my Gel Press! It inspires me to create cards, which inspires me to make more Gel Press prints. Check out this print I made using my Gel Press, Acrylic Paint and a Brayer.
The Gel Press is a gel like plate that is used to create your own prints. You apply paint or ink to it and then are able to mix colors, add texture and more. Then you pick up that print with a piece of paper. I tell you it is GREAT fun! You can see the Gel Press in action HERE on my YouTube channel.
At first glance it doesn't look like much really. But then I cut several ovals out of this print to make some Christmas gift tags with. And now look how stunning the print looks with some stamped image.
After die cutting my ovals I did add some Silver Silk to the tags, the little splatter of silver gave the background some added dimension and shimmer.
I stamped my tree from the Sparkle Trim stamp set with Fresh Forrest ink and then die cut it out. I popped that onto my tag with Journey Foam squares.
To top off my tree I die cut a snowflake using the Snow Blooms die set from Cool Pool card stock. I glued my snowflake right to the tree. Then I punched out a tag with the Tag This punch from Fresh Forrest card stock. The Merry & Bright Sentiment is from the ATS set, Tag Elements. I stamped it with Whip Cream ink. I added some white string I had on hand to the top of my tag and added to the center of the snowflake with a foam square.
Last touch to my tag is the Special Day Organza ribbon. I punched a whole in the tag and tied on the soft whispy ribbon. I like the ribbon tied kind of loose. That way you can adhere it right to a wrapped gift as is, OR untie the bow and tie it onto a gift bag.
Isn't is so pretty! I made these tags to match the cards that we are making at my upcoming Sparkle Trim Card class.
I like to make party favors for my guests attending my classes and this year for all my Christmas card classes I will be making tags to match their cards.
Here are all the fun things I used to make my tags. You can view any of the items I used in my online store just by clicking that image.

Hi stamping friends. Today I have another creation to share with you from my Gel Press.
Take a look at the paper I started with for todays card.
Here is how I made this paper using my Gel Press:
Spray the Gel Press with Gold Splash
Lay down the Polka Dot Wall Stencil
Squirt on some Blue Lagoon Acrylic Paint and brayer it over the stencil.
Lift off the stencil and press a piece of Whip Cream card stock onto the Gel Press, picking up the pattern.
Remove the card stock and let your print dry before using
I really wanted to make a Blue and God Christmas card with this piece of paper and I will tell you it took quite a bit of playing around to get the finished card. But in the end I love how it turned out.
In some of the dots you can see where the blue and gold ran together a bit, which is part of the magic of making your own prints on the Gel Press, those areas have a bit of green to them. So, I added a piece of Lemon Grass card stock to this card to bring out that hint of green.
I just stamped my image from Holiday Celebrations stamp set in Clear Pigment Ink and embossed it with Gold powder. Then I added some gold accents, die cut snowflakes, gold pearls, gold tinsel, and Special Day Organza ribbon!
You can see all the things I used to make this card below, to view any of the items in my online store just click on it.

Did you see my post earlier today about the Media Mix special? Here is a link just incase you have not seen it yet.
I thought I would share a card I made using some of the items from the Media Mix special.
On of the best things on the Media Mix special, in my opinion, is the GEL PRESS! It is a large (8-1/2" x 11") plate that is made of gel. It reminds me of very firm jello. You use the plate to spread around ink or paint. Then you can make patterns in with anything you can think of, yarn, plastic bag, lids, stamps, stencils, etc. To capture this creation you made, you lay down a piece of card stock and pull that print right off the plate. It is AMAZING! It really makes you feel like an artist.
Here is a print that I pulled from my Gel Press, where I was cleaning paint off my brayer from making a print. Not only did I get the red and black paint off my brayer but when I pulled the paper off the wet paint pulled up some dried paint left on the plate giving me a "patina" look.
It may look like a scrap, a piece you'd throw away. but I saw something cool in this print and decided to create a card with it. I cut a piece from it that measures 3-7/8" x 5-1/8". I splattered a bit of Silver Silk on top and sprayed a little Green Olive Splash on top. These products result in a subtle finish when added to the top of this print, as on of the Acrylic paints I used was very glossy. I also, die cut a perforated rectangular frame into it, giving it some more texture and interest.
Then I pulled out my Hit the Road stamp set, one of the sets from my Journey Coach starter kit. I LOVE this set. I stamped the truck and colored it with my Journey Color Burst pencils, trying to give it a bit of an aged look by adding spots of black and dark green. Here's how the card turned out.
Now let me tell you about a few of the other elements on this card.
There are two things I am most excited about on this card. One is the Route 66 sign. I wanted a "vintage" like look for my sign. So I mixed some silver and black embossing powder together. Check out that sign! I'm in love with it!
Second, look at the panel behind the truck that looks like peeling paint. Well, it is! Sometimes you get layers of paint dried onto your Gel Press. One of the best ways to remove that paint is with a piece of packing tape. The tape, peels off that stuck on paint. I thought the tape looked so cool, I had to keep it and incorporate it into my card. So, I added it, sticky side up to my card using some White liner tape to hold it to the card. Most of the sticky was gone from the tape, so I did not have to worry about that.
When the card was all said and done I had to do ONE MORE THING. The truck needed to POP a little more to be the focal point of this card, so I covered that baby with Journey Glaze. Now this sun baked, rusting truck, looks like a vintage beauty!
I had so much fun making this card I really lost track of time. Having a job that brings me so much joy is a real blessing. My girls are in the room visiting me and painting, a rare moment with creative peace, I love it!
Thank you for taking the time to stop and visit my blog and let me share with you my creations! Please let me know if you have any questions about this card or the Gel Press. If you like to see the Gel Press in action here is a video I made, doing some basic print making.
