Peek-a-Boo Flight Over the Farm

Hey there stamping friends, welcome to Episode Five of my March Stamp Set of the Month series! This is the last episode using the Avery Elle stamp set, Peek-a-Boo Flight. I have had so much fun creating scenes for these aircraft to fly in! I hope you have enjoyed it too! 

Today my plane is flying over the farm. I have memories of sitting in my grandparents backyard, who lived in rural Idaho, watching crop dusting planes flying over the near by fields. And that is the inspiration behind today's card.

To fit all the fun into this card I had to go BIG!  This card is size A9, that is 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" when closed. You just take a sheet of 8-1/2" x 11" piece of card stock and score it at 5-1/2" to create this size card. And that gave me enough room to do all the things I wanted to do in this scene. 

When I decided to do this card I thought the Barn Scene Builder die set from Honey Bee Stamps was the perfect starting point for a farm scene. I have also been anxious to open up my Frame Builder die set from Honey Bee Stamps as well, and I ended up using it to create the fence for the card. And it was the perfect spot for me to add my barn yard friends. 

The Frame Builder die set that I used to make my fence is such a cool die set. I got it from the Craft Supplies by CC Etsy shop, who is now carrying stamps and dies from Honey Bee Stamps and Avery Elle. This is also the shop I like to purchase a lot of my embellishments from. 

The "crop" images are from a Lawn Fawn stamp set called Happy Harvest. I stamped 5 of the stalks in Moss ink by Altenew. And it was the perfect image for the look I was going for. 

All the critters I used are from the Peek-a-Boo Pets stamp set and are just adorable!  

I love making cards where I am able to pull from my stash and combine different companies on one card. Do you do this? Or do you tend to stick to one product line at a time?

Mystery Swap 5 - Honey Bee Barn & Camper for Halloween

Hello there stamping friends. I am thrilled to be back with another Mystery Swap with my friend Jen Hartsgrove of Katahdin Krafts!  Each month we decide on a theme and mail each other a mystery box of goodies to be used to make a card or project. This month we swapped die set and challenged each other to make a Halloween card. I sent Jen my Barn Scene Builder die set from Honey Bee and she sent me her Camp Trailer Card die set, also from Honey Bee. Before we mailed these off we both die cut pieces to keep and to send each other. This way you can see both of us make a card with the same things. We also send each other embellishments to use. It's so much fun!!

Let's take a closer look at the cards I made. 

Both cards are 6" x 6" to accommodate the size of the barn and camper. Both cards could easily be made into shape cards. But I wanted to have a little scene around mine and really wanted to try my hand at a light up card with the light packs that Jen sent me. 

Here's a close up look at the light up camper card. 

Jen sent me  the patterned paper die cut elements for this camper, several die cut campers from different patterned papers and these are the two that I chose. I LOVE polka dots and the tiny dots with the larger glittered dots on the black paper look so cute together. 

I had so much fun creating the night sky with Seedless Preserves and Dusty Concord Distress Oxide inks. I used a die cut circle from masking paper to create the moon . All the die cuts; branches, bats, pumpkins, and fence are items in my Mystery Box from Jen.  

Adding lights to this card was pretty easy to do with the light pack that Jen sent me. I did not have to fuss with copper tape and figuring out wiring. I linked the lights used below from Amazon.  I had to use two layers of fun foam on the back to adhere the panel with the lights to the card base as the battery pack is a bit thick. One of my layers of fun foam was a very thick piece and the other was a normal piece, so you may actually need three layers of fun foam or foam tape depending on the thickness of what you have. 

I added some cute things to the inside of the card. I felt I needed an extra layer on the inside of the card to make it more sturdy as the front of the card is quite heavy. The cat and pumpkin were from the Mystery Box, but he web and spider I die cut myself using Cute Cobweb from Lawn Fawn. 

Next let's look closer at the Halloween Barn Shaker Card. 

The elements I sent to Jen in her Mystery Box were, three prints of paper from the Fall-O-Ween paper pack from Spellbinders, bat confetti, wiggly eyes and glittery buttons. I knew right away I wanted to make a three window shaker with this barn. 

I added the bat confetti to the door, jack-o-lantern confetti to one window and orange and purple seed beads to the top window. I added wiggle eyes to the outside of each window, like so many halloween decorations I have seen. Reminds me of the Farmstead my kids go to, where you walk through the corn maze and pick and pumpkin and pet the animals and play games. 

I used the buttons and some thin cellophane (the packaging that the wiggle eyes came in) to make wrapped candy accents. These buttons are glittery and make such cute little candies. 

I used the second barn die cut that was part of my Mystery Box as a spot to write your personalized message on the inside of this card. 

Both cards were so much fun to make!  I loved making a light up card and those little button candies are just too cute!

Way To Goat Episode Four

Hello, I am back with Episode Four of my stamp set of the month series for August. This month I have shared cards made using the Honey Bee Stamp set, Way to Goat. In this Episode I am making A9 cards, cards that measure 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" when shut. You make one by folding an 8-1/2" x 11" piece of card stock in half. I wanted to do this large sized cards because I wanted to make a card with the barn from the die set, Barn Scene Builder on it. The barn itself is 5-1/2" x 5-1/4", so this A9 sized card allows me to put the barn on the card and have room left for a scene as well. 

I made two cards for this episode, Fall on the Farm and Halloween on the Farm. 

First let's take a look at Fall on the farm. 

I had so much fun playing with fall colors for this card. I love the golden grass colored hill and how it contrasts so well with the blue sky. 

The background was an easy ink blending job with just Speckled Egg Distress Oxide ink. 

I colored images from the Way to Goat Stamp set as well as the Warm Wishes stamp set with Copic Markers. 

I used Brushed Gold card stock for accents on this card and it is such a stunning look. I love that I was even able to make white highlights on it with my white Gelly Roll pen. 

For the sentiment on this card I used the Grateful stamp set and coordinating die set. I love the large brush lettered sentiment mixed with the smaller type font. 

The door opens to reveal a duck and the top window opens to as well, where all the fall apples are being stored. 

Now let's take a look at the Halloween on the farm. 

You can see the layouts of these cards are basically the same. I used Twisted Citron for the Halloween sky. I love a good green sky for a Halloween card with a giant moon.  

Besides the Way to Goat and Warm Wishes stamp set I used two Lawn Fawn stamp sets to add to this scene. I used Happy Harvest for additional pumpkins and the crows. I also used Tiny Halloween for the bats, the spider and images inside my little windows. 

I love having these little interactive windows on my card! 

These giant cards were so much fun to make and fill up with images to create these scenes.  I love the goat walking on the fence and all the fun halloween colors.

Way to Goat Episode 3

Happy Tuesday my stamping friends. I am here to share with you 2 Slimline cards with the August stamp set of the month, Way To Goat by HoneyBee Stamps. 

You all know I am in love with slimline cards. And I thought it would be fun to stack up some goats for a tall slimline card. Goats doing goat yoga!!! And I thought it would also be fun to challenge myself to make a card that does not use the goats at all.

Now let's take a look at these fun cards.

The size of slimline cards I make is 9" x 8", scored at 4".  This is what fits in the business sized envelopes that I purchased. Plus, I love having all the space to fill up. I don't know how, but I always seem to easily fill up my slimline and sometimes fun out of room! 

I used all five of the goats from the stamp set for this card. Don't they look so cute doing goat yoga!?!  

I colored in all the images using Copic Marker. I really wanted to color each goat differently. I am in love with the spotted goat at the top. 

The background for this card uses stencils and Distress Oxide ink. It really sets the scene for some morning yoga. 

For card two I chose to use the pig image fro the Way to Goat set and not use any goats. 

Since there is only one pig stamp in this set I used my Gel Press to get a reverse image of this pig. Now I have pigs facing both directions.

For this card made custom sentiment. I brainstormed and researched and typed up a bunch of Punny Piggy Sentiments. They are all sized to be die cut using sentiment banners. I have them below for you to use with your piggy stamp sets. Just print them out and die cut or paper cut them to fit your cards. There are two pages. Way To Goat Episode Two

Hello!  It's Tuesday and time for Episode 2 of my Way To Goat stamp set of the month series! 

In this Episode I am making shape cards with the Barn Scene Builder die set, that are also interactive. 

Both of these cards have interactive elements and fun going on on the outside as well as the inside of the card. 

This barn shaped card has a door that you can open to get a peak at the inside of the card. 

To see the entire scene open the card all the way. 

I love the pig and little chick in the hay loft that. 

For this card I colored in my images with colored pencils. I use the Professional Colored Pencils by Arteza. I love these pencils because they are such a great quality for such a great price! 

For the second card I use the same pencils but did no line coloring. 

This shape card has a sliding barn door. And two shaker windows. 

You slide the barn door open to see the shaker window, which has hay and baby chicks jumping around. The smaller top window is the second shaker window. 

This card also opens for more fun animals from this set. 

These barn shaped cards measure 5" x 5". I chose to hinge two die cut barns together of the left side to make these shape cards. The hinge is 2" x 1/2" score at 1/4".

Way to Goat Episode One

Hello and welcome to my August Stamp Set of the Month series. This month I will be featuring the Honey Bee Stamps set, Way to Goat. 

It is a huge set and is going to be so much fun to play with as we wind up summer and look forward to fall. 

To make this card I used the Build a Barn die set, also by Honey Bee to make some DIY flaps on the front panel. 

Inside the barn doors are little scenes with goats and a fun sentiment that builds as you open each one. 

The backgrounds of each scene were ink blended with the new Speckled Egg Distress Oxide ink and a splash of water.  So quick and easy. 

All of the backgrounds have die cut bails of hay as well. Which is just one of the dies from the Build a Barn die set. I give them more interest I used Copic Markers to add shadows. 

I love that there are 5 different goats in this set, so you can create unique scenes. Plus all the little farm animals that you can add in with them and punny sentiments. It really is a great stamp set!

Foxy Valentine Sweater Card for Hubby

Hello my crafty friends!  Happy Valentines Day! 

I hope to day you do something for you that makes you happy!  

For today's card I am making a Valentine for my Hubby.  It's part of a collaboration with my friend Jen Hartsgrove of Katahdin Krafts.  We challenged each other to make a card for our hubbies. 

As Bill and I have been marries for 25 years I thought it would be fun to use the Warm Wishes stamp set to make two foxes with matching valentine sweaters. The thought being we have been married for so long that soon we are going to start dressing in matching sweaters. It's corny and cute. 

They are pretty cute, right!  

Let's take a close up look at the sweaters and the background. 

Both the sweaters have heart detailing drawn in with a Copic marker.. It's very easy, just make a "v" like shape. 

The background of the card has some very subtle hearts made with a heart stencil and water over a distress oxide ink blended background. 

You can watch the making of this card in the video below to see how I made the sweaters and the background. 

And when you watch the video you will see how I had to redo a few things, including the stamped and colored girl fox. Here's what I did with the one I ended up not using on the outside of the card. I used it to dress up the inside of the card.

 

 

 

 

Now let's take a look at four other cards I made with the Warm Wishes stamp set. 
First upI have a card made for Halloween. 

In these cards you will see that I colored his face in and did not attempt to leave half white as I did with the Valentine card. This sweater is two colors with a colored pumpkin stamped and colored in the center of the sweater. 

I used the exact same layout for this card, but changed up my fox for a fall look.  You can also use the stamped images meant for the sweater as accents for your creations as well. 

I used the same detailing on this sweater as I did on the Valentine's card, but I put the shapes in rows and closer together. This gives the sweater a cable knit look.  And doesn't adding a mouth bring him to life!!! He looks so warm and cozy in his Christmas sweater. 

Lastly, I have a card that I made with the Warm Wished stamp set, but I did not use the fox. 

I used the trees and snowflakes to make a snow globe on my card.  The snowglobe is a die set also from HoneyBee, I have listed it below if you want to check it out.

Z-fold Cards with the Good Mix stamp set

I am back with Part 5 of my July stamp set of the month series featuring the Good Mix stamp and die set by Honey Bee Stamps. I have had a blast making cards with this stamp set and the other coordinating products in this release by Honey Bee.

Again, this month I made two cards for this post. The second slightly different that the first.

Let's take a look at card 1.

I finally took the leap and colored in the record player. For my coloring I used Copic Markers. For the record, buttons and other gray elements on this image I used Cool Gray markers (C0, C2, C4, C6, C8, C10). I love that this one set can work for the lightest of gray all the way to black. I also need to take a minute to say, I am by no means an expert at Copic coloring. I consider myself a beginner. As I am sure most of you are. I will continue to color with my Copic markers, practicing and learning more as I go. I know my  images are not perfect, they are hand colored after all, but I am happy with them.

The orange elements on this image are my favorite.  To color these I used YR04, YR07, and YR09. The record player base was colored using B02, B04, and B24. The last step in coloring this image was to add some accents with a white gel pen.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, today's cards are Z-fold cards. These are cards where the front panel is folded back at the half way mark. To recreate this size Z-fold card start wtih a 4-1/4" x 11" piece of card stock. Score this piece at 5-1/2" and 2-3/4". Fold the card in half on the score line. Then fold back on the second score line. The shape of the folded card should resemble a Z.

This is how the card opens up. To create the sentiment panel, I die cut the record player die from Tangerine Fusion Card stock. I stamped a sentiment from the For the Record sentiment stamp set at the top of this panel, leaving some room for a hand written message. I then lined this up with the record player on the front of the card, so that when closed you can not see the orange panel.

I love the microphone accent on this card, mostly because I colored it in with a Stardust Gel Pen to give it some shimmer. It looks platinum! I think the Tin Pail card stock I used to stamp and emboss the microphone image on add to the platinum look.

To finish off the front panel I add some music notes from the Rockstar Sentiments stamp set. The background stamping on the colored panels features stamps from the Good Mix stamp set. It makes me happy that there are solid and outline images of the star, heart and lightening bolt!  I used the solid images on the front panel and the outline images on the inside panel.

Now let's take a look at the second card.

The second card features the boom box and cassette tape image from the Good Mix stamp set. I colored these images with the same Copic markers as I used for card one.

Another thing I switched up is the front panel of this card is now the Beach Ball color and the inside panel is tangerine.

The sentiment is from the Rockstar sentiment stamp set and is stamped onto a die cut of the boom box. Again, I lined it up with the front boom box, so that it does not show when the card is closed. I want to also mention that the main images on both of these cards are only attached to the left front panel, so half of the image is not attached to the card at all. So, to make these images more sturdy, I backed them with a die cut from a light weight chip board before mounting them to the card.

Inside Shaker Surprise with Honey Bee Stamps

Hey there! Today is Part 4 of the the July Stamp set of the month series (despite what my video says, I might have got a head of myself). The July stamp and die set of the month is by Honey Bee Stamps, it is the Good Mix stamp and die set. I love all the fun images in this set and that is has a great coordinating die set that cuts all the things out for me. If you missed any of the other posts with this set you can find them here:

For today's card I am creating a surprise on the inside of the card. If you have followed me for very long you already know that I LOVE shaker cards. So for this card I shook things up and put the shaker on the inside of the card for a fun surprise when you open it up!

First, let's take a look at the outside of the card.

I used Distress Oxide ink pads to ink blend a rainbow over a stamped and embossed background for the card cover. So, the images from the Good Mix stamp set do not have to be the focal image of the card.

The sentiment is from the Rockstar Sentiments stamp and die set.

To dress this card up I used one of my favorite things, Rainbow Drops!

Now let's check out what this card looks like when you open it.

It's a record player shaker, on the inside of the card. How fun! To make this record player I used the Record Player Card Base die set by Honey Bee Stamps.

The record die has got to be one of my favorite things!  I love that it presses the lines into the record as well as die cuts. And the set has all the other fun elements to make a complete record player. I could not have had more fun making this. And I LOVE that the base of this record player is clear and has RockStar confetti and Confetti Sparkle too. I'd love to get this card and have this fun surprise when I opened the card.

Since the spot where you normally write you message is taken up by this shaker, you can write on the upper inside flap, which is where I stamped "Hope your Birthday is a HIT" from the For The Record stamp set.

Quick Good Mix Cards

Welcome back to my blog! Today is Part 3 of the July Stamp Set of the Month series. July's featured stamp set is Good Mix by Honey Bee Stamps. Each Monday I will bring you a set of new projects made with this stamp set that I have picked because it is versatile, has images as well as sentiments and a coordinating die set. And of course it has to be a set that I love. And if you are wondering why this post and video is coming out on Tuesday instead of Monday, I have been out of town and could not get all of the editing done before we had to leave. So, thank you for showing and watching with me on a Tuesday!

For Part 3 I wanted to make some Quick and Easy cards. And to be honest, coloring the record player from this set intimidated me. So, I decided to go a different route and use this set to make some easy cards. To make sure they still had that WOW factor I pulled some favorite things to go with. And when you need to make a quick card have a cool feature, embossing is always a win! 

One thing I sometimes do when making a quick card is pick one color and one neutral and stick with those colors for all the things on my card. Obviously I chose pink and black for this card, inspired by a time when girls wore poodle skirts.

I used two of my favorite things to make the background of this card, the Graduated Dots background stamp by Fun Stampers Journey as well as their Pan Pastels.

I started with a piece of Whip Cream card stock, which I stamped with the Gradated Dots background stamp and Clear Pigment ink. Then I used the largest Sofft Tool that comes with the Confectionary Days PanPastels set to pick up some pink PanPastel and rub that over the stamped image. The pastel sticks to the inked image as well as lightly colors the card stock. But where the stamped image is the pastel is darker. This is my favorite way to use PanPastels.

I really wanted the record to stand out against the record player, so I brushed on some clear Wink of Stella and then covered the entire record with Journey Glaze. All the stamped images on this card are stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink and embossed with clear powder. The sentiment is from the For the Record stamp set, another stamp set by Honey Bee that works great with the Good Mix stamp and die set.

I also used the same pink PanPastel and another of the tools that come with the set to color in the bottom of the microphone. I just love the 50's feel of this card, it would be a great card to give to one of my girlfriends.  But, as with all the stamp set of the month post this month, I am making 2 cards. The second card is always a different version of the first. So let's take a look at card 2.

I thought a Harley Davidson version of this card would work great. It was not hard to do, just change up the colors.

For this version, I used two colors of PanPastels for the background; orange from the Party Pop set and the burnt orange from the Rich Sorbets set. That gave me to ombre effect for this background. And to add to the Harley feel of this card I splattered the background with Black Licorice silk.

Both cards have gems to accent them from the set called All The Things by FSJ. Which happens to be another of my favorite things that I use again and again.

Rockstar Shaker Cards

Today is Part 2 of my July Stamp Set of the Month Series, featuring the Good Mix stamp and die set by Honey Bee Stamps.

I am so in love with all the stamps and dies in this release by Honey Bee.  In that release is a sequin mix call RockSTAR Confetti Mix. When I saw that I knew I'd be making a shaker card, or two.

I had a blast making this card, which all started with an ink blended background using Distress Oxide inks. From top to bottom I used Twisted Citron, Salty Ocean and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide inks. I used a traditional ink blending to add the ink to my Whip Cream card stock. To give it the fun splattered look I spritzed water onto the background using a Distress Sprayer. I love that I can get a fine mist of water when I pull the trigger on the sprayer all the way and get the large droplets of water when I squeeze the trigger half way. To add even more of a splattered look I also splattered the panel with Distress Ink and Black Licorice Silk. You can see all of this in the video below.

I colored all my stamped images from the Good Mix stamp set in with Copic Markers. I am a beginner Copic colorist. So, don't watch my video to learn how to color with copics because there are many great videos and online classes on this topic, taught by experts. BUT, what you might learn from watching me color with copics is that you do not have to be an expert to use these markers.

Here are my 10 Beginner Copic Coloring tips:

1. 2 or 3 is easy - Stick with two to three markers that you know blend together, this keeps the coloring simple when you don't have the feel of blending down yet.
2. Start light - Color your image in with the lightest color first, this saturates the paper with ink so that the other colors are easy to then blend out.
3. Watch the line! - Don't color too close to the stamped line, these markers saturate the paper and will bleed out over the line easily. So, color close and let the color spread itself.
4. Just 1 and your done - Stick with one color for TINY images, if you are coloring an image and there is a tiny detail don't worry about just coloring that part in with a single marker.
5. Use the right tools - picking Copic friendly ink and card stock will go a long ways in making your beginner work look good. I like Jet Black ink by Lawn Fawn and Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb. card stock for Copic coloring.
6. Don't Worry, Be Happy - don't worry that you coloring does not look like what you see online, keep it simple and just enjoy the process.
7. PLAY - experiment, practice, mess up, try new things and this is how you will grow and get better. Remember the nibs are replaceable and the pen is refillable.
8. Trash it - Don't be afraid to color an image and then trash it and start over. I frequently color two images so that I can have one to get the feel of how to color it and the second one to actually use.
9. Start simple - don't pick a giant flowery image with leaves and babies breath and shading and all the things to start coloring. Start with a simple image with little to no details.
10. Let go of your set syndrome - You do not have to have an entire set of Copic markers to get started. Start with a few Color Fusion sets. These sets are put together as sets that blend together.

Good Mix Tape Cards

Happy July!  I love July, it's summer, it's the 4th, there's camping, it's my birthday month, it's the best. So, I picked a super cool stamp set to feature this month for my Stamp Set of the Month Series. This month's set is Good Mix by Honey Bee Stamps. Every Monday I will be showcasing a new project with this stamp set in a video on my YouTube channel.

If you love music, like blast your favorite song on your boom box kinda music, then this stamp set is for you! Did you have a record player, ever make mixed tapes, have a playlist on your phone of your favorite songs, then you are going to love this stamp set too.

Right when I saw this set I knew I had to have it because of the Boom Box and the cassette tape. Making mixed tapes of my favorite songs, which I had to obtain from the radio or a friends tape was the thing to do! Then when these new things called CD's came out we'd record them on to tape so we could listen to them in our Walkman. That is until the Discman! I digress!  So, today's card was inspired by the making of mixed tapes in my youth.

Raise your hand if you owned something NEON!!!  I had a pink boom box, well, it was small and so I think I called it a radio. Not only could I dial into the radio station I wanted to listen to but I could also play a tape on it. I could record a song from the radio too! I even had a jack so I could plug in my headphones, so as not disturb any of my 3 sisters. Or honestly, to get away from my 3 sisters if only for a moment. The struggle of the first born is real.

I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to color in the images. I love that they have neon markers, they are perfect for this card.

Honey Bee Seashell Card Die I Distress Oxide on the Gel Press

Hello Stamping Friends! I have so much fun for you today!  I am starting off with some backgrounds made with Distress Oxide inks on the Gel Press. I have to say, this is one of the fastest, easiest and cleanest way to make backgrounds on a Gel Press. Then I am going to take those prints and make some tags and a shaker card using the Honey Bee Seashell Die.

Let's start with the video showing how to make the background and projects using the backgrounds with the Honey Bee Seashell Die set.

 

The sand I used inside of this shaker is sand I found at the Target Dollar Spot. It was part of a selections of products intended for making fairy houses. When I saw it I thought of my Seashell Card die set by Honey Bee and knew I needed to make a shaker card. Then I saw this sand again in a bigger container at Micheals, also for creating fairy structures. So, if you too are wanting to make a shaker card with sand in it, I feel you can easily find this sand either at Target or a craft store. It is not messy as far as sand goes, all the granules are about the same size, perfect for a shaker card really.

Now let's have a chat about coloring. It recently occurred to me that not everyone wants to sit and colors images in for hours.  Sometimes you want to color an image in quickly. Or maybe coloring is not your favorite thing. Maybe you don't have a knack for it. After a recent request by a couple customers at my last stamping class for "quick" coloring I decided to look into this further and come up with a solution.

My solution is watercolor pencils and a blending pen. You can color in an image fairly messy with a watercolor pencil and blend it out with either water or a blending pen. I opted for a blending pen because you need to have a little more practice and control with water. So, for the mermaid in this card I used the Arteza Expert Watercolor Pencils, a set of 72. I want to provide my customers with a good pencil at a good price and that is Arteza's specialty. I used two pencils per area and blended them out with a Tombow Bending Pen (N00).

You can see this coloring in action in the video. Maybe this is a good option for you too. Coloring mediums can be very pricey and if you are not "in to it" then a quality but affordable option could be the right fit for you. You can compare the coloring on this mermaid to the one below, which was colored with Copic Markers. It is definitely a different look but you can get good results using and "easier" coloring method such as the Watercolor Pencils and a blending pen.

This card is one made at my recent card class and one of the projects in my February Happy Stamping Box. I am sharing it here so you can see how the Seashell Card die set does make a Seashell shaped card, about 4-1/2" x 4" in size. The background on this card is also made with the same Distress Oxide ink pads, but used to watercolor with, it is not a Gel Press background like the shaker card is.

Now let me show you the insides of these cards, featuring stamps from Impression Obsession.

Of course the Seashell shaped card needed this sentiment, "the world is your Oyster"!  Perfect, right. And the pearl that is next to the sentiment is die cut from another of the dies from the Seashell card die set.  I used glitter paper for this pearl.

Aren't these great saying for Sea/Mermaid themed cards! They are sold as single stamps and so are a great price!

Cola Card and Lip Balm Holder

Not many people know this about me but I love all things vintage Coca-Cola!  I have a little collection of things, that began when I was in high school.  Once upon a time I had these things displayed in my kitchen.  The funny thing is I don't really drink soda at all. But I love the colors, the lettering, and advertising of vintage Coca-Cola.  It just makes me smile.  So, today's card was a joy to make for me. It incorporates so many of my favorite things. Coca-Cola, shaker card and my love of lip balm creations. 

I am in LOVE with the entire lip balm line of products from My Favorite Things!  This is my third creation since getting the Lip Balm Window and Frame Die-namics set set and Lip Balm Shaker Frames.  If you missed them be sure to check out my Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Fruit Loops cards. 

For my glass of soda I created a blended background with Tea Stain and Ground Espresso Distress Oxide inks. The glass, straw and label on the cup are all from the Coffee First die set by FSJ. It's a versatile die set that is not just for coffee creations. And the shaker elements inside my glass are the Clear Bubbles Sequins by Honey Bee Stamps.  It's so fun combining the products I have into one perfect creation. 

One of my favorite parts of this card is how amazing the background stamp suits the front of this card. I used the Graduated Dots background stamp by FSJ to add some interest to the font of the card and it is like this stamp was  made for Coca-Cola creations!
