Village Collection Fall Houses

Hello there my stamping friends I am excited to be back with you today sharing another NEW release designed by Tim Holtz for Sizzix. The lovely people at Scrapbook.com sent me the Village Collection Dies and new 3-D Texture Fades embossing folders to create with and share with you. I was THRILLED when I got a look at this new collection of products. I love house dies and villages! And with this 87 pieces the possibilities are endless with this die set. Add in the texture fades embossing folders and it village making heaven! 

When I got these dies I knew right away I wanted to make a few houses to add to my fall themed mini tiered tray. And I would make them to match the fabric pumpkins I already have. Take a look at how it all turned out.

Now let's get a close up look at each house. 

This die set has dies to make 2 base houses, this is base house one. I was able to pick the door and windows I wanted on this house, as there are so many options in this die set. I also added the brick layer using the Brickwork 3D Texture Fades mini embossing folder. I also personalized this house by added singles to the roof. The colors I chose were inspired by the fabric pumpkins I have as part of my fall decor, also pieces I made. 

This house is the base house #2. There are 3 main dies to make this base house. Again, I chose the door and windows. I also used the Lumber 3D Texture Fades embossing folder on this house. I was able to get the white highlights showing threw because I used the Neutrals Smooth Cardstock pack from Scrapbook.com. The paper in this pack is 85lb with a white core. Making it perfect for sanding down your embossed pattern. I also ran my Walnut Stain Distress ink pad over the embossing for some shadowing. I love the added pop of color to this house with the teal door, that matches that pumpkin. 

This is also base house number one. But I added on the entry way option. There is also an addition option that you can add to the side of this house. And the entry way, as well as the addition can also be added to base house 2!  That alone gives you so many options. There are also dies to make a steeple and an upper level to create a manor. 

For this house I added a bit of cable stone around the bottom using the 3D Texture Fades mini embossing folder of the same name. I also used the Lumber folder for the roof of the house. 

I am so in love with the shutters you can add to these houses, they are so darn cute!  

The possibilities with the Village Collection dies are just endless!  These dies are I have so many more ideas and will be sharing them with you soon, with more videos and posts to inspired you with this die set!

Sizzix Christmas Dies by Tim Holtz

Hey there stamping friends I am so excited to be among the first to share with you two new die sets from the Sizzix Christmas release, designed by Tim Holtz. I have to give a big THANK YOU to Scrapbook.com for sending these dies to me so that I could create and share with you on release day. 

The two die sets I am sharing with you today are the Winston Colorize die set, a set of 16 dies that create a layered and dimensional snowman that is classic and adorable. The second die set is Funky Nordic. This set has 14 dies in it, but several of the dies cut multiple pieces. This set has an electric mix of wintery, nordic and Christmas elements. 

I LOVE to make tags for gifts that the recipient can also hang on the tree as an ornament. So, that is what I decided to make with these fun new dies sets.

I started by die cutting out all the pieces I to create this amazing snowman. The Colorize die sets are designed to layer pieces on top of each other in away that gives its dimensional look. These dies also emboss lines in to the cardstock that are a guide for you as to where to adhere the different pieces. And if you are following the die cut sample on the packaging the layering dies also tell you what color to cut with that die. That can be very helpful when you have 4 dies that you use to make the scarf for example. 

I made some very simple chipboard tags that measure 3" x 6". I just cut the top two corners off to make a tag. I covered the chipboard using paper from the Echo Park paper pad called; Jingle All The Way. 

The poinsettia that I added to the top of this tag was made using the Funky Nordic die set, which I also used to make the tag below. 

I made this tree using the die that is meant to be a snowcapped mountain. But since it is the Funky Nordic die set, why not go off script and use these dies to make your own creations. The trunk of the tree is made using the candle stick die from this set. 

All of the paper I used is from Scrapbook.com. They have paper pads that are great for card bases of all sizes and die cutting too.

To finish off these tags I used a bit of Perfect Pearls to add some shimmery splatter all over. And I tied off the tops of the tags with some red and white twine that had a couple mini bells on them.

Sizzling Days of Summer

Today I am celebrating the Sizzling Days of Summer with Scrapbook.com.

I made some bright summery cards for you today with some products that I fell in love with.

Now let's take a close up look at the cards I made. 

First up is the sunshiny bright hello card. 

I love the bold and crisp feel of this card. 

I started out by ink blending a panel with Pink, Turquoise and Yellow ink and the new domed ink blending tools. The domed sponges are amazing and seem to glide across the paper effortlessly and made for a very nice blended rainbow. 

Next I added a die cut cover piece using the Slim Sunshine die and the bright yellow card stock from the Brights Smooth Cardstock pad (which, side note, is a SLIMLINE paper pad, so there is less cutting for this slimline card addicted girl!) It looks stunning over the ink blended rainbow. 

For the sentiment I used a few die sets and one sentiment stamp set, all on different sheets of cardstock from the Brights collection. 

Let's start at the top, I die cut the word Hello using the Classic Type Alphabet dies, this die set comes with upper and lower case letters and I used both, cause I could! 

The word "love" is from a scripty die set called; Inspire. I love pairing typed font with scripty type. 

Lastly I added a sentiment from a Wordfetti stamp set; Best Day Ever, embossing it with white powder onto this fuchsia cardstock. 

The boldness of this card reminds me of an advertisement for sunscreen,I think it is great to get inspiration from all kinds of places. 

Next up, I have a slimline card with more rainbow ink blending, but this time, with the Wave Stencil. 

You should watch the video and see how I got the watery look on the swirls of this card. This stencil just screams summer, I love it. 

Did you happen to notice the rounded corners on the slimline panels of this card? This is one of my favorite die sets from Scrapbook.com, the Slim Nested Rounded Rectangles!  There are 8 pieces in this set and I just want to layer them all up! 

Again, I paired the Classic Type alphabet die set with the Best Day Ever stamp set for my sentiment.  It reads, You Are (U R) something to smile about. The Best Day Ever stamp set is a great one for scrapbooking, but I found it was also fun for card making.

Making these cards was like a little kick off to summer and the hot weather that has rolled in here in Idaho. I think tonight is a good night for a dip in the pool!
